How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The manageress ran out as we arrived and helped us to park and get to our room. She also greatly helped is to choose a dinner restaurant.

Very friendly and welcoming owners - a lovely garden, with beautiful, mature trees, - very well-appointed and furnished room - a good home-made dinner, served on the terrace - and breakfast with a wide choice of food and drink.

Lovely hotel with great hosts. Amazing cuisine, all prepared and cooked onsite. Private car parking and only 5 minutes walk from Aubusson centre. Quite, comfortable and welcoming. Have stayed before, will stay again.

Be aware that there is not a lift and there are stairs from the car park and then to the rooms.
Perfectly situated for visiting the Musée des tapisserie - well worth a visit and only 5 mins walk from the hotel. A further 5 mins will take you to the town centre. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions for trips/restaurants. The secure car park is a big plus also. Although the weather didn't permit it, the garden and terrace looked very inviting. Hoping for fine weather for our next visit.

We really enjoyed our stay so have nothing we didn't like about the hotel itself. Aubusson is a small town with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants but quite a few of them were not open on Sunday evening in September. Also, make sure you don't leave it too late to get a table, with a limited number of restaurants open we were advised by our host to make sure not to leave it after 20:30
Really well appointed family-run hotel in the small town of Aubusson. A very warm and friendly welcome. Breakfast with a variety of options (& prices) was available. Our room was modern, up to date and spotlessly clean. Free on-site parking is available at the back of the property.

That we could not stay longer!
Location was great, nice and quiet and a 10 minute walk from the centre. The food, cooked by Lisette, was simply amazing and extremely good value. Breakfast was also super. The room was fabulous, clean and spacious with a great view of the gardens. Eric and Lisette were super hosts, so kind and generous with their helpfulness and information. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will most certainly be staying their again.

The furniture and the fixtures in the bathroom were all chosen with exceptional care, like in a 5 star hotel. Really solid and beautiful. I loved the view of their garden and the private parking so my car felt safe. I wish all hotels at this price had this level of quality.
