Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately restaurant was closed for dinner but there was a Chinese and Italian within walking distance.
Walking through the snow, the sight of La Couronne beside the church was very welcome. Lady in charge was very helpful and I had a nice big room and access to a lounge. A little off the GR5 / E2 footpath I was walking but not too much. Handy for the Via Fracigena.

Lovely rustic property in the old part of town. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Food cooked on site by proprietor and was of the region. Very close to Swiss border and onward travel.

United KingdomIt was perfect.
We had such a warm and friendly welcome by Monsieur who showed us where to park (all free in the square and the road) and was most helpful - bringing us drinks, an ironing board and iron to our room. We overlooked the little street and could see the interesting church next door. Monsieur has the key if you want to visit, it's on the pilgrim route from Canterbury to Paris. Beautiful countryside with a ravine down below where the village used to be beside the river, and I imagine great for walkers/hiking. Monsieur gave me a great history lesson - I speak French - of the town and its history. We had a delicious dinner of a very good soup, a veal dish and a mousse au chocolat with a strawberry coulis. You order breakfast the night before so he can order fresh croissants, rolls etc. There is also fruit and cereals to help yourself. This is a typical French old fashioned hotel just over the border from Switzerland and we loved it. Very 'bio'! We had driven over the Simplon Pass on our way home from Italy. Quiet and peaceful, but I imagine in the summer and the skiing season it would be very busy. Beautiful weather. A great find. Merci Monsieur!!

United KingdomI have stayed here before and the food was excellent so unfortunately I picked a bad day. Change of ownership since my last stay and I think it is now geared more towards young and fit ski dudes. Very steep and narrow staircases with no lift.....not ideal when you're 64 and carrying a suitcase!!
Very helpful and friendly staff ,good service in the restaurant but on the night I stayed a very limited menu (one choice take it or leave it !) due to "operational issues ". The meal was fine however.

The genuinely friendly and helpful family who run the hotel are amazing. The hotel is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well located. The dinner was delicious. This was our favourite stay of our time in France.

FranceThere is nothing to do in the village but that’s not the hotel’s fault.
Basic rooms but with everything necessary. The hotel was cozy and clean, with very nice staff, and both the dinner and breakfast were great quality-cost. The dinner was really good, my son claimed they were the best potatoes ever and they were not fries!

United KingdomWe stayed here 10 years ago and it was a good nights sleep and we had a very nice meal. The meal is important because there are few options in the village. Sadly the hotel no longer operates as a proper restaurant but it does offer a half board package which we opted to take. There was no choice and the meal was basic but OK (not for the one of us who was not keen on fish) but at approximately 40 Euros each it was over priced - indeed it was the same price roughly as a meal we had the previous night which was magnificent. We understand the hotel faces difficulties but we will not stay again.
Hotel in great position close to road but quiet and with great views from the garden. Free parking near hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms small but well appointed and comfortable. WiFi iffy but it did work and we are in mountains!
