A very beautiful house that exceeded all expectations. Old orangery overlooking the castle. All facilities have been thought of. Fully equipped kitchen. Great location, lots of privacy. Imagine yourself as a lord of the castle for once! 10 out of 10! (11 wasn’t possible)

    Could not fault the property.

The location was excellent and just 10 mins drive from the town of Selles Sur Cher. The host Francois was very helpful and friendly. Peaceful surroundings with a great view of the past. Would recommend that you visit this property if you enjoy a french countryside location.

While the host was super nice and we absolutely loved our stay here, there were a few things to note. - For North American travellers, this establishment is referred to as a “Gite”, which in France means guests are usually expected to come with their own towels, sheets and to do a complete clean of the apartment themselves. Nowhere on the booking.com site does it refer to this place as a Gite nor explain about the lack of linen and cleaning policy. However, after talking to the host, we were able to get sheets for 20E and paid a cleaning fee of 40E. - Also, the booking site says there are bikes to use. There wasn’t. - And while we initially had wifi upon arriving, after the first day of our stay the network went down. I informed our host but he did not respond to this enquiry and the network never did re-appear.

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend this home. We’d book in here again for sure. Spacious, fully equipped, comfortable, beautiful quiet surroundings, Loved it!!!!

First off all the owner first of all gave us enough wood for one night while we were going to stay for multiple and the whole house was just freezing cold for the absence of people, it was also not cleaned to any kind of standard with cobwebs flying about, dust clinging on every surface, no bedsheets meaning we had to spend a lot of money just so we can even stay and sleep there normally while cleaning the house and on top of all the owners mom came to the house personally to start mocking us and started talking in French, we didn’t understand anything but with just her body language and raised tone, we realised she was being very aggressive and protective over her cleaning and that it was all alright and started screaming at us even though we were the ones feeding money into her pocket. The owner came to apologise but he didn’t really care about what happened and didn’t apologise much about her actions.Don’t go to this property I repeat do not go to this property. All you will receive is stress and a feeling of wasted time

The interior of the house was spacious overall with a nicely made kitchen and fireplace that warms the whole house.

House full of dust, spider webs and dog's hair. Stains in the refrigerator and on the coffee table. Bread crumbs under the toaster and so on... Overall, the house needs proper cleaning from floor, up to the ceiling. If you don't speak french, try to talk to the owner, because his mother reacts aggressively upon any remark. Both meetings with her were disgusting (those experiences can ruin a lot of your vacation time). Excuses: "its family place cleaned by guests" "it's a cabin in the woods" "we can't find anyone to properly clean it" "the place is cheap to rent". We don't care. We have used booking.com for at least a decade, and we've booked tens of places in the whole of Europe, and this was the dirtiest... by far. That's a pity, because property itself is great.

Localization, vast garden, fully equipped kitchen, pleasant interior design :)
