Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGreat hosts, had a small issue with hot water but easily rectified by Philippe with a bottle of wine. Good clean apartment easily within walking distance of great sights and restaurants in Dijon.

New ZealandPhilippe welcomed us warmly to a very comfortable apartment with easy access to the old town. It was warm and a great retreat for a rainy day. The added treats of fresh fruit, bread and jams was a wonderful surprise. We would return again.

AustraliaJust watch your head going down the stairs to the bedroom as you might bump your head.
We liked the size of the apartment, everything worked and there were clear instructions in English and French. The host added little things to make the stay easier and more comfortable e.g. bread, jam, juice for the first day breakfast as we came in a little late. There were tourist maps and information to make planning the next day easy.

Our host, Perfecto, met us at the property, he had provided us with a lot of thoughtful extras including some fresh fruit. He also helped us to store our bicycles securely. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We liked that the bedroom was downstairs, it was cool, dark and quiet, perfect for sleeping. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated being able to use the washing machine. For us it was an easy walk to the old city of Dijon.

United KingdomThis place is an absolute delight. Philippe the host was exceptionally welcoming, gave us a full tour of the facilities and recommended places to visit and eat. He also left a basket of supplies (bread, milk, juice, coffee etc.) The accommodation is spacious and beautifully decorated with a well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom is in a downstairs basement, lovely and cool as we visitied in the July heat. The property is in a gated courtyard off the street for added security. The old town centre is just a short walk away. It's a beautiful town with a mixture of medieval, classical and modern architectures, so you don't know what to expect every time you turn a corner.

Canadaalthough it was not a concern for me, as I am only 5‘2“, the bedroom ceiling was quite low; in fact, I could touch the ceiling. Tall people would likely hit their heads, walking down the stairs to the bedroom, and perhaps their heads would touch the ceiling. The kitchen cabinets were very high, so a person of my size would have difficulty reaching the items on the shelves. Fortunately, there was a small stepstool that helped me reach things. The same concern was with the microwave and the kettle as they were very high and challenging to reach.
it was very easy to walk to significant places. The space was very clean. The host left a little bit of food, and drink in the fridge. The bedroom was on the lower level, so it was nice and cool as it was very hot during my stay.

GermanyThe Wi-Fi connection doesn't work in the bedroom (which is in the basement).
Communication with Philippe, the host, was easy, and we were even allowed an early check-in. The apartment is more than enough for a very comfortable stay in Dijon - close to the city centre and in a quiet neighbourhood. Everything was very clean and we had all we needed to make ourselves feel at home.

United StatesNothing...it was perfect!
We traveled for a month through France and Dijon was one of our favorite! The apartment was darling! Very spacious and in a safe, quiet neighborhood. The bonus was that it was a very short walk to the main city center so getting around was a breeze. You could easily walk everywhere and if you needed to drop stuff back at the apartment after shopping it wasn't a big deal. The apartment was equipped with so many little 'extras'. Milk and OJ in the fridge, welcome cookies and baguette on the counter. So thoughtful. Parking on the street was even easy and not expensive. If ever we get back, we will definitely stay here again! HIGHLY recommend!! And if you do go to Dijon, be sure to take the class the TI offers on how to make mustard. That was so much fun!!

ItalyI don’t believe it is clear in the apartment description that bedroom is in the basement - apartment is on 2 floors with kitchen/living area and bathroom on the ground floor and bedroom underground.
Apartment is just amazing - it has everything you could ever need during your stay. Position is very good, just 5 minutes walking from the city centre and paid parking is available around the area. Special mention to the nice thoughts from the hosts of leaving fresh bread, jam, juice and milk for breakfast!

The appartment is very spacious and so much prettier than on the pictures! It has a living room, very functional kitchen and modern bathroom on the ground floor level and a sleeping room downstairs with a little window, just perfect to have a good night without any noise. We were nicely greeted, got a good recommendation for a restaurant and there was even food and coffee for us there. Would highly recommend this place! Very good value for price!!

GermanyThe mattress was too soft for us.
It was a very nice stay. The hosts were very kind, they met us and explained basic things about the city, restaurants etc. The location of the apartment is great, 10 min to reach the city center and the huge food market. We were granted welcome wine, baguette and some other food in the fridge. The city itself is awesome. The food you can find on the market is delicious. If you want to have a kind of gastro-tour that definitely the right place to visit.

SwitzerlandSeveral details not really matching the extremely high ranking (apartment renewed but only partly, door tent falling off all the time, no real place for clothes both upstairs and downstairs, uncomfortable stair to go downstairs, feeling "to be in a cellar" downstairs due to lack of daylight, reception by the host nice but nothing special, so not as it was described by other guests).
The position and the quality/price ratio are definitely a plus. Flexible (checkin time) and nice host, late and super easy checkout, breakfast for the first morning, good coffee machine with several capsules, quiet location.
