Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThere was no fridge in the bed room which is a real issue in summer in this part of france. Also pillows were very hard and there was pretty much no power plugs in the room.
We liked the location, the beautiful park (swimming pool and garden), the size and the park view from the room.

SpainThe rooms are not so nicely decorated, not enough space for clothes, not very nice looking furniture for such a beautiful hotel.

FranceThe restaurant experience on my birthday was regrettably not good. There is not a lot of choice on the 48 euro menu but the main problem was with my main course which came with a 10 euro supplement. The meat was over cooked to the point of being inedible and I had certainly not ordered it “bien cuit” and most chefs would have refused to do this to good meat in any case. I cannot imagine what went wrong in the kitchen that evening. I felt uncomfortable having to send back the meal and this soured the evening. The fish alternative offered was pleasant but not especially to my taste. My partner enjoyed his lamb. At checkout my bill showed the 10 euro supplement on the meal I could not eat causing further embarrassment to both myself and the administration staff who had obviously not been advised by the restaurant. An unprofessional oversight which rather added insult to injury in the circumstances. My partner has asked me to add the loose toilet seat in the bathroom - this nearly caused a nasty accident!
The location was good, within walking distance of the attractive town of Fontvieille and there are several interesting cultural venues to visit in the area as well as modest restaurants. The hotel gardens were delightful but beware pine resin on the stone seats and our room terrace was spacious and had a wonderful view over the verdure. The room itself was somewhat underwhelming for the price but clean and functional. The receptionist spoke excellent English and the staff on a whole were smiling and friendly with the odd exception in the restaurant. My birthday was remembered by the administration and restaurant staff even if the former spelled my name wrong! Much appreciated.

Isle of ManDisappointed with the evening meal in the hotel restaurant. It’s a pretty room with a terrace, but the food is ‘overfussed’ with. Aspirations for a Michelin star possibly? More robust fare in keeping with its Bib Gourmand status would have been more appreciated.
Didn’t have the breakfast. Hotel location is good with parking.

Belgium-Breakfast formula: what a pity to have coffee from a machine and to eat from plastic trays .... really not matching with such an authentic setting. Please review this formula and foresee some nice tableware as part of the provincial atmosphere ? -Same for the swimming pool lounge seats, they could use with an update - some of them were broken and plainly uncomfortable to lie in. -As it was 'canicule' when we were there,so a small fridge in the room and fresh water would be nice.
Good location for the area. What a beautiful park garden. Good swimming pool. Sympathetic staff and good restaurant. Good big clean rooms, we had a room with a terrace it was perfect. Various separate areas in garden and terrace, really nice.

United StatesThis is a wonderful hotel with a Michelin restaurant. Parking. All the amenities I had the budget room number 27 which is in a space that has the elevator shaft, the stairwell beside the elevator shaft and a door that goes into the normal corridor with the regular rooms. So you got to hear people going up and down the stairs, using the elevator or slamming the door going into the normal part of the hotel after leaving the elevator. Even though things quieted down in the evening. I would have opted for paying more and getting a quieter room had I known. I read another review from someone with the same experience as I had. But otherwise I think it is a splendid place to stay and as well located to see the sites in the area.

United StatesThe bathroom was tiny, we had to use the bathroom on the loft, but sleeping up there was very hot since there was no AC. TV had very few channels and none was in English.
The hotel location was not far from one of a small village. The restaurant at the hotel had great food, but breakfast was not good. The staff was very friendly.

United KingdomRestaurant and bar closed each night we stayed, which we were warned about so that was fine. Even when the bar was open, there wasn’t a bartender so the receptionist could only make basic drinks. They closed the pool early each night. The hotel was almost empty while we were there and they still gave us the room that looked into the car park and was right next to the entrance so we got woken up every time someone came to the hotel.

United KingdomNothing really (and I am quite particular!) The village is ten minutes walk away but the road is not busy and is lit at night.
Gorgeous hotel. Modern and spacious bedrooms. Nice that they provide Savon de Marseille products. I had a room at the front of the hotel, so while there was a little traffic passing, it looked over the Alpilles - quite a view! Pool and garden absolutely lovely with lots of space and trees. Really good restaurant (45 euros for an excellent Menu) and in good weather one eats on the terrace overlooking the garden. Very nice staff.
