Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStayed in La Tourelle one night while in. Bicycling tour. The bike was safely kept in a space in the garden. La Tourelle du Beffroi is very central - the staff are friendly and hospitable and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable

AustraliaI find the showers in very old buildings are often a bit touchy and this was not really an unexpected issue here. Just a bit slow to drain the water away.
Very helpful, lovely cool room, great facilities for bike riders, easy access, right in the middle of the town, beautiful.

AustraliaThe only downside was that the building had poor soundproofing and you can hear everything. Also some tea and coffee facilities would have been nice.
We were looking for a place for a couple of nights close to the Thermal spa. The location was excellent, right on the medieval square and walking distance to CeltO. The rooms were quite charming and well decorated. We particularly were impressed with the manager and staff who were very helpful. We decided to have breakfast which was well priced and ample with juice, fruit, cereals, eggs, cheese meat, coffee and tea and yoghurts. There is a large balcony that overlooks the square as well as a garden area. The establishment has a lovely ambiance with comfortable beds and hot shower. I rate it highly for the cleanliness.

NetherlandsThere really was nothing much to dislike. Maybe the ensuite could have been just a bit bigger.
Quaint place, really great location. Our room was the smallest in the hotel, but the way it was layed out made the most of the available space. Ample free public parking with reserved spaces for hotel guests right in front of the hotel.

SwitzerlandThe outside appearance doesn't do the place justice. From the looks on the outside we were expecting "ok" but got "fantastic"
The room was an absolute delight, plenty of space, wonderfully furnished and decorated, bright and friendly bathroom, access to garden/terrace. Room 3. Super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended

We enjoyed our stay in Logis La Tourelle du Befroi on our Eurovelo 6 cycle trip. We were quite surprised on entering our room to find a large room with a double door balcony to the square below. Location was excellent. Breakfast was a typical French breakfast in a pleasant setting. Bike storage was in a open shelter in a locked courtyard with easy access to the room for loading and unloading our bikes.

United KingdomOur only problem was the car park which is immediately outside the hotel entrance. There are no motorcycle designated parking places as such. However, the car park is up hill and also on a camber. So, on heavily laded motor cycles in wet conditions, the car park is a bit tricky.
All good. We were two motorcyclist travelling to the south of France. Clean rooms, comfortable and informative host. Very pretty village. Nice pubs and restaurants near by.

FranceThe floor is very noisy, every step you take it cracks. And since the rooms are far from soundproof, every step the neighbours take, you hear as well. You hear all talking in the hallway, and the room is pretty small and basic; it lacks the charm of the old building it is. The bed is small and the mattress ready for a change. We both didnt sleep well and woke up with backaches. For the price I expected a lot better.
The location right in the middle of the medieval centre of Bourbon Lancy is very nice. The decoration of the room is tasteful and modern. And I loved the perfume of the shower gel in the bathroom.

GermanyThe AC was directly pointed at the bed and turning it off was no option as it was simply too hot. Had trouble sleeping because of that and also, the bathroom was quite a bit too small.
