How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the bathroom is quite small and the lift is only big enough for one , but the location and price far outweigh the negatives!

Some of the staff, though accommodating appeared to be laboured when asked to assist with things that should be expected. We needed a new light bulb for the room and even brought the broken one down but was greeted with a sigh/huff. We brought out bags to the lobby for storage on the last day to again be greeted with a look of disbelief and a sigh as he panned to look at the others in the lobby.
I liked the location, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Communication with the hotel was good, a few emails were sent in good time. The rooms I would say we're adequate for the price.

Arrogance,...The prices depend on the customers.
At the reception, only one lady works properly with people. This h appens in the afternoon. The others are bothered that they have clients with the rates from the booking.Asian tourists pay exorbitant prices. Embarrassing!

The breakfast is really lackluster - especially for the price. You might be better off getting your breakfast in the bakery in the next street. Some things are a bit outdated or old school.
The location is super, close to main highlights and close to vibrant restaurants and bars. For Paris, the price quality is pretty good. Compared to any other city, it is quite high for a relatively small room.

A little dated but very comfortable and good value for the price. No coffee machine in the room but coffee available at the cafe on ground floor. No iron in the room.
Good location but it’s a very quiet area on Sundays so if you’re there on the weekend you’ll have to walk/get the metro to a busier area.

smell of drain in the bathroom the big bed was actually 2 bed next to each other so I violent sleep in the middle but only on a small mattres on one side

Noise from neighbouring rooms could be heard, especially when toilets are being flushed or someone is showering. However, street noise is blocked well by windows.
Location was excellent. Staff were nice and helpful. Room was a little tight for two people but we didn't spend any time in the hotel other than for sleep.

Not sure about the culture, but should have drinking water facility for all at the rooms. Otherwise, it's a nice stay.

I had a small, perfectly functioning bedroom and bathroom. It was however, underwhelming when compared to other rooms in that hotel, as it had no view, well, except of a shaft. I did get however, natural light and that is always a plus in Paris, plus a great working AC in a hot-as-hell summer day! So yay.

There were three different men staffing the desk, two were lovely but there was an older man who was so rude. He was so grumpy to deal with! Also if you need a taxi to the airport order one yourself, they have set prices on the windows so to Orly it was 37 euros, we booked one through the hotel and there was a big mark up!
Room size and location was really good! Room was clean. We had a chance to see the other rooms and they were very small, so round up to the superior is you can, makes a big difference.

The lift was broken when I was staying there, which meant you could only access the lift from level 1. It was slightly annoying if you had heavy luggage that you had to lug up or down the stairs for check-in/check-out. Aside from that, nothing else to complain about.
I had a very good stay at Hotel Lautrec Opera - my room was clean, spacious and comfortable! The hotel is very well located in central Paris and is decently priced, considering how expensive hotels usually are in this area. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay and don't care about it being "fancy", this hotel is perfect for most.
