Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceIndeed hostel is literally next to the church so it can be disturbing to hear bell every hour (for me it was ok). Owner is very professional and fast in reaction, just had mixed feelings after short interaction with girl from my dorm supposedly managing it in name of the owner (wanted to ask a question but felt she is irritated by me asking - not very customer oriented)
Great central location, comfortable bed and clean bathrooms, attracting right type of travelers. Owner is professional and breakfast was simple but tasty (bread, jam, butter). I received what I expected :)

AustraliaThe hostel really does feel like home! Since it’s small you get to know everyone quickly. There are only 2 dorms of 6, each with a kitchen & bathroom, plus a nice outdoor seating area. Free breakfast of fresh bread & jam was a bonus! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet yet friendly place 😊

SpainIn a shared room of 6 beds, my room was quite noisy, and people walking past outside could be heard
The location was great, right in the heart of town, and the hostel has only a couple of rooms and a courtyard, which was quite nice and private. This is definitely not a big hostel experience, which I certainly enjoyed. Although quite simple, the breakfast was really good (baguettes and jam)

United StatesThe only advices I have is to really emphasize guests bring noise cancelling headphones or really good ear plugs.(or even provide free ear plugs). The church which is literally just across the little alley/street rings every hour (on the hour) and is quite disruptive of a good night's sleep. Since they are male and female shared rooms, you can hang a towel or sheet to make a privacy curtain on your bunk if you are on the lower bunks.
The location is so perfect for accessing the Calenques, beaches, restaurants, and shopping. The whole vibe of this little hostel is chill, cute, and family owned. Both rooms have great little kitchens with all the things to cook if you prefer to stay in and make a meal. I suggest taking your towel (and products) out of the bathroom because other guests might use them since towels are not provided or available. The courtyard/public space for hanging out is absolutely adorable. With so many little plants and seats and the decoration is really fun. Gathering around the outside table to share the (complimentary) breakfast was a highlight of my stay.

AustraliaThe rooms did get quite hot at night as there was no AC, and the church bells were quite loud but of course this is not the hostel’s fault :)
I had an wonderful and memorable time at this hostel. The hostel itself was very social and cosy, and the small number of people staying in the hostel meant you bond super easily with other travellers. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the location was super close to everything you needed. I would definitely love to come back!

United StatesHosts are so kind. They don’t speak much English and I don’t speak much french but we were still able to communicate well. Super cute, highly recommend. Cassis is beautiful and very safe for solo travelers. Decided to stay here instead of Marseille because of safety concerns as solo female and so glad I did- it was amazing!

AustraliaRooms and lockers were small. The church bells are very loud next to the room every hour all through the night. Woke me up almost every hour.
Absolutely loved my stay here a couple of months ago. Still travelling and this was by far my favourite place to stay, I think about it often and wish there were more hostels like this! So homely and small and got to know almost everyone staying. Great common courtyard for socialising. Great central location too.

ItalyEverything was great! As a suggestion, within the price towels may be included as well as some milk or juice for breakfast. Bring your earplugs for outside morning noise.
Little, lovely, family run hostel, in the hearth of Cassis. Rooms are clean and with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. As soon as you arrive, the owners explains you in details all the activities available in the area. They also allowed me to leave my luggage before the check in time. If you wish to work from Cassis the patio is very quiet and the wifi is strong and stable.
