Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo complaints at all.
Le Clos was a lovely place to stay. It was a haven of peace in a busy travel schedule, providing a comfortable place to stay in Montpellier. The location is great for the station and the city, but you are not disturbed by any noise from town or train. Breakfast was perfect. Sad we only stayed 1 night.

AustraliaLack of indoor common space, as it is an owner occupier property. No washing machine
It’s on the quiet side of the train station so the area is residential and within 5min walk to station Clean, I mean it’s really clean and tidy. One room is en-suite and the others 2 are not , so you need to check before booking. ( I was a bit concerned reading previous reviews) Well equipped kitchen and great breakfast

HungaryThe fact that you have to share the bathroom might be uncomfortable, it wasn't in our case given the guest set up and we cannot complain since we were aware that this was the situation.
The B&B is very close to the center. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. Michel is great, we had very nice conversations, he is very friendly and nice. The breakfast was great and the homemade orange jam was a wonder. Cannot say enough times what a great host Michel is.

United KingdomDriving to the property through Montpellier's one-way system was challenging! Michel's address does not get you to the right location (with Via Michelin or Waze) but once we identified the road at the side of his property we were able to drive there with no further problems.
Michel is an excellent and attentive host who has created comfortable bedrooms and a lovely garden in a very central location within an easy walk to the town centre. The breakfast was great, with homemade marmalade from the orange tree in the garden, plus excellent coffee. Being able to use the shared kitchen with fridge was great, as was having two chairs in the bedroom - quite rare in hotels, let alone chambre d'hote!

AustraliaCould not fault anything.
Michel was an excellent host who made the extra effort to ensure his guests felt comfortable. He provided extensive tips on where to eat and what to do, and put on a fantastic spread for breakfast with delicious homemade marmalade from the oranges in his delightful courtyard. His dedication is really shown from the world map hung in the kitchen which he uses pins to represent the places all his guests call home - such a great tribute to his guests and a wonderful conversation starter! Thank you Michel for a lovely stay.

CanadaMichel has done a superb job of restoring a historic property with all the modern comforts and a nice sense of design. Our in-suite bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom. We enjoyed chatting with our gregarious host as well as touring the beautiful courtyard garden and learning about Michel’s use of sustainable irrigation techniques. Location excellent for St Rich train station.

United KingdomPersonally I found the bed a bit too firm, but my husband slept very well.
Excellent breakfast, access to kitchen to use facilities to make a hot drink or collect cold bottled water from the fridge. Was also able to use the fridge to store food for our journey the next day. Lovely well kept garden to sit and relax in. Brilliant location for centre and train station. There is a lovely bar, ‘L’Original‘ restaurant about 100 meters away. We had a very good lunch and returned there in the evening to see a jazz band that where performing. Lovely staff and well worth a visit.
