Nothing to fault

What a fantastic little manor house hotel, very friendly reception and service. The piggonier room was fabulous. The evening meal was lovely and great value at 30 euros a head, likewise the breakfast was great. This was a real gem of find and we will stay again when passing through Bordeaux to Spain. They allow dogs.

Jean-Philippe and his wife are charming hosts. Their beautiful property is presented so well. We had a lovely room with a mezzanine bedroom all decorated so tastefully. We enjoyed a super dinner and breakfast too.

We felt the food was a bit overpriced and there was only 1 vegetarian option. For dinner it was 30 euros per person and the main dish (macaroni cheese) was clearly a microwave meal. Breakfast too, 15 euro pp, was a little disappointing. But there weren’t alternative food options within walking distance so little choice!

The setting is fantastic and the property is beautiful. Room is spacious with a big and comfortable bed and quiet. Hosts are warm and welcoming. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Nothing. If I was to find one thing I’d change. I’d have bigger fluffier towels.

Everything was perfect. The room was stunning. Bed very comfortable. The gardens lovely and after a long drive (London to Bordeaux in one drive) the supper and wine just perfect. And dog friendly.

The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming and the entire space was impeccable. A must try if you are in the region.

The ceiling over the bed was too low and it meant you could hit your head very easily and stairs were very steep & narrow in the dark.

Everything was done to make it very comfortable and owners were very helpful.

Stayed overnight last night on our way to Spain. Jeanne-Phillipe and his family are very warm and welcoming hosts. The room was beautifully renovated and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was excellent! We would love to visit again

Beautiful, no other words to explain it. The chateau and rooms were perfect, good size, very private and in pristine condition. Our room had a private jacuzzi & we had access to a communal heated pool. The facilities in the room were very excellent. Finally the host was very good, helpful, informative & always available.

The breakfast was excellent with high quality local produce.The location was tranquil with good access to Bordeaux, Blaye and the vineyards. Jean-Philippe and Virginie could not have been more welcoming with great suggestions as to how we could make the most of our visit to this part of France.

Wifi barely worked, breakfast was a bit basic and no restaurants within walking distance.

Location was good for our onward journey, the continental breakfast was also tasty. Room was a converted pigeonnier, so the space was a bit limited and not much storage for clothes. The bed was upstairs on a mezzanine level and the slope of the roof meant that there was limited headroom when getting in/out of the bed (I am 1.88m tall). The room was fine for a 1 night stay, but I would not recommend it for any longer stay.

unfortunately the swimming pool wasn’t ready. The rooms are small, a little too small I think. I stayed for just one night and I think that it wouldn’t be suitable to much longer stays. Having been newly refurbished there was notices around saying that you can’t have your own food in your room, however it’s quite remote so unless you want to eat what the host cooks you then you’re a bit stuck. No breakfast was offered. The is nothing inherently wrong with this property, it’s clean, beautiful and friendly, but I thought it was a bit too expensive for what was on offer, and in the end it just wasn’t for me.

The property is beautiful, really spectacular to look at. The rooms were newly refurbished so it was lovely to stay in a ‘brand new’ room. The property is pet friendly and there was ample space for our dog to have a run around.The host was very welcoming and met us to show us to our room, he also offered us an evening meal.

Room is a bit tiny and a bit expensive for what it was. The road near the house is a bit lousy.

There is no restaurant or bar around in walking distance. About 5-7 km you can find a place but there are only very few and not always open. If it’s raining and you cannot walk or enjoy the pool you cannot sit in a cafe reading for example. The area is nice but very calm and not a lot to do on rainy days.
