Absolutely nothing. We have stayed in many Booking.com properties and this is certainly one of the best. Such a shame that we were just staying one night on our way to SW France.

The detached little cottage opposite Annie's house is on two floors, very private and immaculately furnished and decorated. The shower rooms (2) are spacious and well fitted with modern sanitaryware and good showers. The bed was particularly comfortable. The property is in a beautiful rural setting not far from the pretty medieval hill village of Pujols and is very quiet and peaceful. Annie, the owner, tried her best to find a restaurant for us but due to it being Friday night of a French holiday weekend it was impossible. In the end we bought cheese, pate, wine and bread from a local supermarket and picnicked at the property where Annie kindly provided fine plates, cutlery and linen napkins!

I can’t say there was anything that could have been better…apart from the weather!!!!!

A superb overnight stop. A large detached building with everything you could possibly need. A very comfortable bed and an excellent shower. The accommodation was very tastefully fitted out. A most friendly host who ensured all was ok. The breakfast was first class with many homemade/ homegrown products. Lily, the dog was most welcoming too!!

WIFI wasn't working well, but we had a big storm and this may have disrupted the signal

Super chambre d'hôte. Accommodation is in a beautifully converted barn situated in extensive grounds with trees, shrubs, flowers etc. Very clean and well kept swimming pool. Large lounge with comfortable furniture and flat screen TV. Area to make coffee/tea with a fridge. Large bedroom with ensuite shower room (plenty of hot water) and loo. Very comfortable large bed, sitting area with TV and a small balcony. Air conditioning upstairs and down. our host (Annie) was charming and very helpful. We enjoyed a great breakfast sitting in the sunshine on her outdoor terrace. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

The listing promised wifi, in all areas. THERE IS NOT. The owner gave me the wifi password, it wouldn't work. They insisted it was correct. After 40 mins of politely querying this, they 'suddenly' remembered another 3 digits to the password. Once online, I could connect to the Internet, but NOT IN THE ACCOMMODATION. I went to MacDonalds to get free wifi. This was a huge inconvenience (given I needed to do a lot online). I felt the owner deliberately tried to withhold the wifi. When I went out (to eat and get wifi), I left 2 lamps on as I was unfamiliar with the place and it would be dark on my return. When I got back, someone had been in my room and turned them off. This intrusion of my privacy made me feel anxious and uncomfortable. It was also a security issue. I had agreed to breakfast. When in the owner's house for the wifi password, an elderly cat was on the table and work surfaces. Very unhygienic, even for me as avid an animal lover and pet owner. I could not eat food prepared there. The bedding and shower tray are old. The tray flexes and moves when you step into it, feels unsafe, and there was mould around the shower tray. The shower attachment would not stay in the holder. It kept dropping off, and onto me. I had to shower holding it. It's dangerous and could hurt someone. Rude awakening: I awoke with a start at 8am. My first thought was that the roof was falling in. It was a shock, and very alarming. It turned out that roofing contractors had arrived, and started work on the roof directly above the room. It was very, very noisy. The owner did not inform me in advance. When I told them it was unacceptable, they said that as I had told them I was getting up at 8am, they thought it was fine and refused to acknowledge that it wasn't appropriate. A booking should not have accepted when noisy/intrusive works were planned. I voted with my feet, and left.

As shown in the photos, the gite is a very attractive, traditional stone building, set in the grounds of a pretty house. Both are set around a charming, cobbled courtyard. Le Columbier is tranquil, quiet, and surrounded by nature. I didn't get a chance to use the pool (as I left after one night of my booked stay), but it looked very nice. The bed was very comfortable. However, sadly the place is dated in parts, and smelled very damp (I had to launder the clothes I had set out for next day as they smelled awful) NOT a 4 Star as advertised (in my opinion, and I work in the industry).
