How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Underground parking expensive and entrance quite tricky.

We loved our stay the Le Garage, the staff were friendly, the pool area fabulous, the food delicious and the rooms large, comfortable and stylish. We will be back!

Noisy neighbours on the Saturday Night. This lost a point or two overall.
Hotel was approx 20 minutes walk away from the Buzz of Biarritz which was perfect for us. Both receptionists on duty were excellent and gave us loads of info and recommended 2 Restaurants and booked them for us. On the first night we ate in the Hotel which hit the spot after a long drive.

A small improvement would be better car parking in front of the reception.
We had an outstanding stay! The staff is young, dynamic and extremely welcoming. The location is perfect for a quiet, yet luxurious stay, within walking distance from the city center and only a few steps from the beach and the Biarritz light tower. We had one dinner, favoring local and regional products: excellent! Breakfasts are generous. The underground parking garage features excellent EV chargers. A very strong recommendation!

Not only did we receive a warm welcome when we arrived but our dog did too! Our room had plenty of space to relax comfortably and a terrace with an ocean view. We loved the decor and vibe of Le Garage but even more that the staff excelled in hospitality. We will return and allow more time to enjoy the spa! Merci Le Garage! 🇫🇷

Our only drawback was the lack of any view in our particular room. Next time we’ll request a different room for that reason only.
The property itself was lovely. Easy to find, in a great area of town just outside but walkable of the centre and interesting. The staff were charming, helpful and communicative. They assisted with queries quickly and were very friendly. The pool area was good fun to be around and there was a resident DJ on one of the evenings. Would definitely use again when in Biarritz.

On the side of a fairly busy road at times, but not audible from the room.

Liked the pool a lot but found the noise from the road adjacent to the garden quite disturbing. Lots of mopeds going by all day long.
Stylish design hotel. Delicious food. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved hanging out in the lobby/entrance/restaurant area. Mellow feel.

What's not to like? It's great!
Beautifully designed with huge character - it's a great little hotel. Brilliant bedrooms and super comfortable common areas, lovely pool. The staff were incredibly helpful and the breakfast great quality with plenty of choice. Super convenient parking underneath the hotel snd just a short stroll to the quiet end of the beach or lighthouse. All in all, pitch perfect.

We were very happy and have no complaints.
Superb small stylish hotel with attentive & friendly staff. Good location away from the bustle of the main town centre. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops - 20 minutes to centre. Great beach within 5 minutes walk. Delicious and plentiful breakfast with an emphasis on home made & locally sourced produce. Sunday brunch was especially good. Small pool but good for an afternoon dip. We had a cosy garden room which had everything we needed. It was stylish and thoughtfully planned including coffee machine, kettle, fridge & complimentary water. Would thoroughly recommend Le Garage.
