I pre booked this hotel in February with a no refund discount 105 euros. The fact is they charged me twice saying the original payment to booking.com was just to secure the room that was clearly a lie! When I showed them payment confirmation from booking.com later after I checked my app they refused to refund my card. Their charge 131 euros was a higher amount than the original advance booking. They ultimately refunded the lesser amount so I had to ask booking.com to intervene for the balance- nightmare! that was 3 weeks ago. Staff all smiles but secretly scheming to charge more. The fiinal invoice to justify second charge showed 5 pets in room charged for! We took one small cat! So might be nice looking property but with their dishonesty would advise you avoid like the plague. certainly check your booking app if they tell you to pay on arrival. makes you wonder if this is a common scam of theirs. Beware! PS check your room charge too!

Nothing to not like at all.

The staff were all superb. Customer service was superb. The reception lady had identified a problem with our booking but resolved it completely. The restaurant was lovely and we received fantastic service. Our limited language skills were more than accommodated by the hotel staff. The food was first class.

I loved everything!

This is a stunning property that has been sensitively restored. It is a hidden gem and I was truly delighted to have found it. Everywhere was really comfortable and dinner in the conservatory was truly delicious; a wonderful venue and such welcoming staff. I would love to return.

Our room was in the attic. A third of the room was unusable because of the ceiling slope. No air conditioning just a noisy floor fan. Bed was tiny and not accessible from one side. Shower room was so small anyone slightly overweight would have a problem. For the cost of the room it was very below expectation.

The restaurant and food were excellent but pricey. Staff were helpful The restaurant overlooked the old mill race. Good atmosphere

This hotel is situated in a lovely position by the river. We had a room overlooking the river which was really nice. We used the Restaurant on the first night, which was excellent. The Hotel is within easy reach of the town where there are lots of restaurants shops etc. As the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings, the receptionist recommended some restaurants that were open, which was very helpful. We hope to stay here again soon. Highly recommended.

Room was enormous and beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable. Close to the best property I stayed at in my week of travels - certainly the best value for money. I only stayed one night, but wish I could have stayed longer just to enjoy the accomodation for longer.

The elevator is very odd and scary. Getting the automatic (!) door to shut Having to hold the button down to get the elevator going ..and keep it moving. In a 1000 elevators, I have never seen that. How somebody with mobility issues (not me) does that, I have no idea. The stairs are circular and narrow - hard with even a small suitcase. The attic bedrooms are not big enough for a double bed. The whole hotel needs a sustainability makeover. Two large lights on in the very sunlit breakfast room, five lights on outside the hotel in broad day light !, paper cups in the room (good) each wrapped in plastic (really??). I mentioned this to a harried overworked staff member who had no help for 20 guests. Her response? 'It's OK. It's normal.' Yeah, right.

Location on the river. Breakfast was OK but ar that price, should include a hot item and better coffee. I advise cheaper breakfast at any of the places nearby. Bathroom...nicely done.

Room was not ready as promised. We were told to come back in an hour and a half it was raining we went back were given the key but the room had not been cleaned!

Food was good. Next morning a change of staff who knew what she was doing improved the hospitality..
