Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel has no lift and the stairs are steep and worrying for older guests (like us!). Better lighting and a new carpet would help. The bathroom basin had no plug - tricky if you want to fill it!
This was our third visit to this hotel, as a staging post when travelling by car between Provence and London. It's beautifully central with pleasant staff and we've always had an unusually large bedroom complete with anteroom and bathroom with an actual bath in it. Breakfast was as expected - coffee, croissants etc on a self-service basis. Everything was very clean.

United KingdomParking is either at a meter outside (usually works for an overnight stay) or in a public car park a few streets away. Obviously a dedicated car park would be easier, but not practical as the hotel is so central.
Good central location. Pleasant staff - we got helped with a restaurant booking. Breakfast OK but not exceptional . A useful stop on the way from Provence to England

FranceAn electric kettle with some tea / coffee would be welcome.
traditional family-run hotel, located right in the heart of Dijon, well renovated rooms in traditional style, including a (non-functional) chimney in the rom , quite large, with table, armchair, creaky wooden floors, comfortable beds, very good and brand new bathroom. Warm welcome at the reception. Would definitively come back or recommend. No parking, but possible in the street, for free at night. Quite safe. Actually, we could watch our car from the room's window. We did not try the breakfast.

GermanyThere was a little road construction in front of the hotel, so it was quite noisy earlier in the morning.
Our stay at Hotel Le Jacquemart was very nice. We enjoyed a comfortable room on the upper floor, and the historic charm of the hotel added to the authentic Dijon experience. Plus, there are plenty of bars and cafes conveniently located nearby.

RussiaNo AC, it was very hot in our room (especially when coming back after hot day, it was nicer outside). Room had a fan though which helped a bit. Stairs were a bit of a challenge too.

FranceMany things were I to plunge into detail, but none of them important. Location trumps many things.
We have stayed in this hotel before. It is not the most modern, the rooms and bathroom equipment are oldish. However, the rooms are clean and ... above all ... the location of this hotel is TOP. You will love the convenience of the short walk to the Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne and surrounding neighbourhood where you will find many boutiques and restaurants. Parking is frequently available in the street right in front of the hotel, we lucked out and we able to park immediately across from the entrance. This is our 3rd visit to this hotel, and only once have we had to leave the car in the public car park which is 300 m away. Other highlights were the friendly staff, and reasonable room rate. I recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

AustraliaIt was noisy at night till a bar behind the hotel closed. Then perfectly quiet. Maybe some better double glazed windows and also block out blinds would be small things to add but would not stop me from staying here again.
We had a triple room and it was great value for our family (2 adults, 2 9yr old girls). Beds were comfortable, room was large, bathroom was clean, bath was a great change after showers only - small but deep and very clean. Our girls loved it. Location was excellent and an easy 15min walk from station with luggage and right in the centre.
