Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenIt was an amazing place and a beautiful building inside and out. The location was great with Mont Saint Michel just 40 minutes away by car. The hosts were very kind and happy to make a lot of recommendations throughout Normandy. Upon arrival, they also made nearby restuarant recommendations, we went to the closest one called Le Table, and the food was delicious and affordable considering the high quality.

United KingdomBooking.com says that you may, under arrangement have a meal at the property. This is no longer on offer - just to note there are no restaurants in walking distance - or a supermarket nearby so it’s a car journey. It would have been nice to have been able to use the terrace by our room but it seemed to be closed off.
The tree lined drive to the chateau is stunning. The chateau has been in the family for a long time - it was lovely to hear about its history. Our room was magnificent - beautifully decorated. We had access to the living room on the first day which was beautiful - full of antiques and family treasures. Both mornings we had a delicious breakfast.

United KingdomChristine and Marc were very welcoming. We like the place so much we extended our stay for another day. The room was big and comfortable with a view over to the village church. Le Logis d'Equilly is located in the countryside and it's lovely and quiet. They have a nice breakfast and in her office, Christine has local jams, condiments and drinks available for sale. For our first night they booked us a table at a great restaurant called Le Moulin de Beauchamps which we can highly recommend. Christine also gave us some guidance to Villedieu-les-Poêles-Rouffigny where we found some fantastic copper pots for cooking. Well worth a stay!

BelgiumThere is truly nothing I dare to complain. If you are looking for a place to stay in Normandy - stop right here. You found it!
Unbelievably beautiful chateau in a quiet secluded place. Be prepared for interior to simply amaze you as soon as you’d enter this place. The rooms are large, well-lit and clean. Make sure to visit the common living room which looks more like a treasury. You will feel like you are staying at a museum. The hosts are beyond friendly and welcoming. Over dinner, which was kindly offered by wonderful Christine and is indeed exceptional, you will learn the story of the chateau. Make sure to join the dinner at least once as the atmosphere at the table is simply incredible – you’ll feel at home in a circle of close friends. The breakfast is also really good and beyond expectations with some fresh apples and walnuts from the garden. The only thing to regret is that our stay for just one-night long. We will make sure to come back for few days to truly experience everything the chateau, Christine and Normandy have to offer.

IrelandA kettle with tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom would have been useful - on arrival. It would have been nice to have hot drinks before going to bed. We were well aware of the no drink/eat in bedroom and this put us off. Please note there are hunting displayed on the walls and a hutch of rabbits outside. WiFi is not accessible in the bedroom or in the wing we were in. But it is down in the public reception, dining area. It was awkward having to keep asking the host for password who put this in on our one device when we had other devices, so we had just one phone to rely on. We needed WiFi for googling maps (restaurant) and to check emails from the ferry and the hotels. However, we stayed one night. If it was 2 nights, then it would have been inconvenient. (This is not a major "didn't like" - this is an inconvenient issue.)
Breakfast was enough and perfect. Delighted to see big cups for a nice cup of tea/coffee. Loved the fresh bread and croissant. Able to park onsite. Loved the character of the chateaux which we treated ourselves to at the end of our trip to France. Loved the rolltop bath and the new decorated bathroom too. Pity we didn't stay long enough to use it as we were both tired. Host suggested nearby restaurant which we found the best so far - Entrees and Desserts were unique and to die for. This place was similar to our previous Georgian house with its character and historic attached. It is peaceful - no tv. Marc and Christine were wonderful hosts. She speaks some English, him none. GermanyNothing special, everything was above and beyond my expectations.
Fantastic place! It is beautiful building with long history. It is old and attractive, has its own medieval atmosphere which I enjoyed a lot. The rooms are very well decorated and furnished, the antique elements highlight the ancient spirit of the chateau and modern bathroom gives you good level of comfort. The hosts are amazing people, they have spent a lot of their time and energy to make this place remarkable and worth to visit. They are friendly and helpful, always help you with advice what place to visit and where to have a good lunch or dinner. Breakfast is good - fresh bread and croissants with butter, cheese and homemade confiture. Fresh coffee or tea (which you can also get during the day). I do recommend attending dinner - starters, main courses, set of cheeses, desert and, of course, wine - memorable experience. There are few restaurants around (2-3 km by walk) ask host to help you to book a table in advance. Train station "Foligny" is in 2km - from this one you can visit many towns; the tickets can be bought online or on the station itself. In overall - a great place to visit.

SpainIt’s a great place to stay in for a few days. Probably it’s the one of the best hotels I’ve been in, the attention to the details, the breakfast, the cleaning everything was excellent. The room was big enough and really quiet, so you get to hear birds in the morning! The owners can tell you some history of the place, places to visit and the diner they offer!!! It’s just above all expectations and they really try to make your staying comfortable, with a good breakfast and homemade confiture.
