Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNot a whole lot!
Our cabin was a premium three bed and I cannot fault it. It was spacious for a cabin and exceptionally clean. The area out the front was perfect for our kids to play in while we relaxed on the veranda. Very private too despite being beside a pathway.

United KingdomVoices carried from adjacent properties - got used to it after a while. No rain cover over patio - left it damp after the two showers we had.
As in our Ile d'Oleron stay last year, we found the location at the northern tip of the Ile de Re to be ideal - not too touristy, but lots of wildlife to see, and marshes to cycle around! Beach within 200m of our house for daily swims. Classy restaurant when needed, but nearby supermarket and take-away pizza van too. Well-built modern house, everything worked well, including mosquito screens on key windows.

United KingdomSome of the cabins are more private than others. we were allocated a newer cabin at the front (back?) of the resort and there was less vegetation (presumably because they are new and the surrounding plants are smaller) and with no sand out front! To some the lack of sand would be a blessing (the huts do get very sandy and you spend a lot of time sweeping) but our sand obsessed 3 year old was very disappointed. However the staff were super accommodating and let us move cabins because the resort wasn’t full. We were there in June which is apparently off season and the airstream bar was never opened. We would have loved a drink/ice cream when the restaurant was shut. It could also do with a small shop on site. Would be great if you could hire beach umbrellas from them too as the beach has no shade (bring your own!) Restaurant had nice food but again no shade and also quite expensive. Laundry was also quite expensive at €5 a wash.
Very family friendly and very consciously designed. The premium cabins feel premium! Clean, spacious and nicely laid out. Kitchen was v well equipped. Being able to request a baby kit (high chair, cot and bath) was super appreciated. The site is super peaceful and beautifully landscaped. Two lovely beaches on your doorstop and Les Portes En Ré is a very pretty little village with a good market and couple of nice restaurants. There is an seafood shack 5 minutes down the road that’s amazing. Supermarket is a 2 minute drive. Bike hire was great - lots of options for children (trailers, seats, helmets etc) Pools were fab…with good toddler areas. We spent a lot of time in the indoor one because it was such hot weather. Takeaway pizza from the restaurant is a good shout if you can’t be bothered to cook. Loved the free yoga class!

IrelandNothing i didn't like
Cabins were private surrounded by foliage. I was there in May which was perfect as not at all busy. Staff very friendly. It was a really relaxing holiday. Fee bird watching and free yoga was a nice unexpected bonus. Bikes to rent on site. Village a 5 minute cycle away.

NetherlandsWe had NO sun on our cabin for almost the entire day (except early morning). Great in the summer but in spring it made it colder than it really was. There is NO oven (in any accommodation). There is an extremely small (and very difficult to work) combi but we tried several times and could make nothing in it. Do note the size of the cabins because they are quite small.
The place is beautiful. Our hut was almost at the exit to the beach, so fantastic location. Extremely handy to have the bike rental on site (and they were also very friendly and nice). The cabin was simple but clean.

United KingdomThe accommodation set up wasn’t suite how it was advertised on booking.com - we expected (Premium Lodge) two twin rooms and one double but it was 2 singles and 1 double so one adult ended up sleeping on the sofa as we had a long journey and didn’t want to change accommodation.
All staff where very friendly and helpful and spoke great English which helped. Facilities are brilliant and it has everything you need for an excellent holiday. We even got a feee breakfast!
