Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Typical french breakfast, home made by our lovely host Adrian. The house is close to the city tower and the view is magnificent. Really old classical building, properly renovated and maintained.

This was an exceptional place to stay. The room (delux suite) was large with beautiful contemporary decor. Upstairs there is a kitchen with patio doors onto a terrace with views over the rooftops of Marseillan. We could have breakfast served to us either indoor or out on the terrace.During our stay of 4 days we could also make use of this space during the day. Our host Adrian was incredibly helpful in both guiding us on places to go and ensuring we enjoyed our breakfast and our stay. Our time there was memorably good.

The host Adrian was charming and nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable ,the ensuite pristine and the breakfast was superb with a good variety consisting of orange juice, fresh fruit, cereal , yogurt with granola. Pastries, fresh baguette, cheese, and preserves with plenty of coffee. The breakfast is served at the top of the house in a covered trapezium terrace where the sun was shining brightly on a chilly winter morning. Wonderful !

This beautiful 17th century property lovingly renovated by its present owners. Impeccable cleanliness and Adrian was so keen for you to enjoy your stay. Attentive and breakfast on the roof terrace was lovely. My husband has a dairy allergy and he even prepared a soya starter for his breakfast the previous evening. I can honestly say that he goes the extra mile and more. The property is a hidden gem right in the middle of the bustling restaurants bars and market which we were lucky to arrive the day it was on. We will return and hope the suite will be available. If you want a personal experience this is a lovely place to enjoy.

United KingdomNothing could have been better, it was all great!
We had such an amazing stay at Le Prince. The perfect combination of an atmospheric historical building with large, clean and bright rooms inside. It has obviously been renovated with such care and attention. Lots of interesting books and a roof terrace to sit and read. The bed was so comfortable and it was great to have a bath. The breakfast was delicious (the local boulangerie is so close you can smell the fresh bread when you wake up!) Adrian was the perfect host- super nice and friendly and even gave us an early breakfast so we could catch the airport bus on time. The location is great as you can walk to the port and all the restaurants easily, and we did a nice long walk out to the beach and took the No.9 bus back to town. We would recommend this place 100% and can't wait to come back!

Fine, tasteful decor. All the best fittings. Host went out of his way, literally. He jogged to where we were stranded when Google maps let us down, and jogged back while we followed him to free parking a block from the hotel, then help with the bags. Marseillan is a treasure town, on the lagoon a few hundred meters away. Look out for the jousting boats -- look it up.

United KingdomThe terrace is a stunning place to have breakfast (which is also lovely) or to sit and relax and the room was nicely decorated and vey clean. Short walk to the beautiful port and numerous cafes. The best thing though was Adrian - he was incredibly helpful with taxis (these are not always easy to find), accomodating late check in, letting me stay around after check out and offering endless snacks and drinks! He couldn't have done more and made my short trip far less stressful than it would have otherwise been. The best host I've ever had for sure.
