Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe did like our stay so this is not a complaint. Just a note that this is an old place so do not expect 5.-star conveniences. For example, the bathrooms are small, not much room to put makeup and toiletries. This is for those who do not want a typical hotel experience and do not mind driving out of the way to it.
The location was close to Avignon and we enjoyed staying at a unique b&b that was formally a home. I do not know the age of the hotel, but it was charming. We really liked being on the second floor because it contained a furnished living room that was open on one wall to overlook the patio and the nearby rooftops. You will need a car and the streets are very narrow. On the street parking at the hotel was appreciated because I am not sure where we would park otherwise; however, I do not think the hotel owns the spaces so it is first-come-first-served. The breakfast was nice but not a large assortment - breads, cheeses, yogurt, cold cuts, nice juices, coffee. Nothing hot - no eggs. The rooms were small and individually decorated. The beds were fine. I got two rooms and each had its own bathroom.

United KingdomThe only observation was that there was no room cleaning as standard. We had to ask for fresh towels and bedding and for the room to be cleaned, which was readily accommodated, although the clean was minimal e.g. kitchen bin not emptied, no more toilet paper left etc. Staff do not speak English here - Google Translate will be your friend in absence is knowing French! Lastly, the location is very quiet with minimal facilities - one small shop with limited provisions and one pizza takeaway, no other restaurants.
Lovely quiet apartment. We were upgraded from a romantic double given we were staying for 8 nights in low season and greatly appreciated the extra room as the double room we were supposed to have was very small. Parking a bonus and always readily available. The streets are narrow though and parking spaces compact, so a smaller car is better. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

NetherlandsOnly minor detail: as we travelled during a heatwave, we had to rely on the airconditioning to cool things down a bit. Just a little to make it more comfortable. It did seem to work properly, but this could have been also due to the extreme temperatures.
Wonderful small hotel in the beautiful village of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres. The host is super friendly and considerate. Thank you for making our stay so lovely. Big plus is the beautiful courtyard and the small swimming pool. Taking a dip during a heatwave was very necessary.

Bonjour. This property is exceptional. We traveled across France in a rental car, traveling north from Paris to Rouen, Port-en-Bessin, Cancale, Quimper, Lyon and parts south. The location of Hotel Saint Laurent is great. We spent five night and loved every one of them. Each morning we had breakfast in the barrel-ceiling dining area. Everything was punctuated by the sweet sound on the voice of the owner, Vinny, who greeted us with Bonjour, Ca Va, and a laugh and smile. The medieval village is great. It even has a pizza shop! And a great jumping off point to see Arles, Aix-en-Provence, The Monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausole in Saint Remy, and Pont du Gard.

United KingdomThis is a charming hotel. Each room is individually decorated and has lovely antique furniture and beautiful furnishings. It's an excellent example of an individually owned and well-managed hotel. It was a good stopover and conveniently located to visit Avignon. The town of Saint Laurent is medieval and interesting. We plan to return!

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have some toiletries in the bedroom such as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Also it would have nice to have an English channel on the television. Also if you want to explore outside the village, for example to visit Avignon, or Villeneuve then you need to hire a car. There are buses but I am not sure that they run very often.
The breakfast was a very typical French breakfast, although the lady was happy to do you an omelette if you asked her for one. The hotel was charming and the bed was very comfortable. I took complete advantage of the pool especially as it was 40 degree heat which was really refreshing.
