Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, everything was exceptional.
This was the best place we've stayed and highly recommend it to make your stay special. Excellent hosts who are warm and welcoming and invest in your stay with great recommendations. The breakfast is a perfect way to start each day; delicious and generous selection of food served on beautiful crockery and tableware. The house itself is incredibly tasteful, with modern art and design, beautiful linens, a gorgeous lounge and dining area, the courtyard is a little oasis. The room was lovely, with beds made each day and water replenished. Teas, nice soap and shampoo provided. The bath is situated infront of shuttered windows which is lovely and relaxing. 11/10

United KingdomThis is a tiny hotel, offering a unique experience and exceptional level of comfort. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. It's a beautiful, stylish home, with a reading room and a beautiful shady courtyard where breakfast is served in high style, and where guests can sit and read or converse by day. Breakfast was delicious. The huge bed was firm, with comfy pillows and real linen sheets - perfect for a good night's sleep in a heatwave. We loved the opportunity to explore the salt marshes and beaches of this part of the island, furthest from the land bridge. The bike hire shop opposite was super convenient and friendly too. Finally, I have to mention Ganesh the resident dog, a beautiful elephant grey Wiemaran. He is a real character, a gentle giant. We would love to come again.

The hosts are attentive and the room & breakfast was perfect in a beautiful courtyard setting. We would definitely love to return & completely agree with how it scores so high in the ratings. United KingdomNOTHING
Everything, absolutely everything. Its very central location, few steps away from the port, the daily market, the church, and a lovely stroll to the closest beach. The interiors are beautiful decorated, with taste. The patio stays fresh, even during the hottest days we encountered (40C). Breakfast was served there every morning - absolutely delightful: freshly pressed fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, locally sources egg, yogurt and cheeses, bread and pastries, a selection of Frères Mariage teas and freshly brewed coffee, on a served on a table elegantly set. The Hosts are attentive, caring and dedicated to make one’s stay memorable. The room and bathroom were equally beautifully decorated with a great attention to details (products from Aesop), bedsheets in linen, etc. There are only three bedrooms on the property so its feels incredibly exclusive.

United KingdomThere was very little not to like. My only comment might be to consider placing fans in the bedrooms to help with sleep during very hot weather. Other than that, perfect!
This was an excellent BnB in the middle of beautiful Ars en Re. The rooms were well appointed, the courtyard was delightful, breakfast delicious and hosts extremely accommodating.

AustraliaNothing! It was Perfect! But if you're trying to choose a town to stay in, Ars en re is on the quiet side, a lot less busy than Saint Martin or Le Flott, but if you have a car those towns are easy to travel to for a day trip. I'd say this location is perfect for a weekend but probably for not a long stay due to it being quite small.
Everything was modern, clean, and private/quiet. The breakfast was divine and the hosts are very sweet + helpful with local tips. The rooms are quite separate so you still have a lot of privacy during your stay. Their dog Ganesh was also a highlight of the property! There are markets on most days, only a 2 min walk away, which we went to a couple of times for food and browsing.

FranceHonestly, we really can't think of anything we didn't like about Les Clés d'Ars.
After spending six nights at Les Clés d’Ars in May '22, we both thought this was one of the loveliest places we've ever stayed, anywhere. Christine and Arnaud have created a calm, tasteful oasis in Ars en Ré; genuinely, a tiny piece of paradise on Île de Ré. They are both experts in hospitality and it really shows. They made us feel so welcome in a warm, kind but discreet way. We really did feel as if we were staying with close family friends. The common areas of this exceptional location have been carefully designed in a really tasteful, timeless way. So you feel as if you are staying in an exclusive hotel, even though it's a three-room guest house. The centrepiece is a cool, private courtyard, surrounded by climbing plants, and birdsong that leaves you feeling as if you're enjoying breakfast in a forest glade. And Christine's sublime breakfasts' legendary status is richly deserved (warning: they're also extremely generous. The fresh juice, fresh fruit, granola, yoghurt, great coffee and basket of bread and pastries left us full all morning). Our room was excellent, finished to a very high spec with a fantastic overhead shower. We also both slept really soundly, despite being at the front of the building – mainly thanks to the very excellent, firm mattress. There was some street noise one night while we were there (to be expected near the port). But, overall, we found the area was almost silent from 22:00 onwards, even in May. Christine and Arnaud have earned their high rankings on Booking.com and Tripadvisor for good reason and we would recommend them to anyone who's planning to visit this fascinating island.

United KingdomThe only thing was it was quite noisy from the street traffic at night as our room overlooked the street. However, everything else about the place made up for the outside noise.
We had a very warm welcome from Christina and her husband. We had a beautiful room. The place was gorgeous, lots of interesting art. Breakfast was incredible, very special.
