How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Access: 4 flights of stairs. Second bedroom: no cupboard or shelves for storage; no waste-bin. Bathroom: no waste-bin.
Location: very central, & remarkably quiet, with interesting views from windows. Parking space. Host: straight-forward, friendly & helpful, English-speaking. Living-room: very spacious.

One dishwasher capsule is required daily. One capsule for 3 days is not enough.
Friendly and very helpful host. Helped us organize transportation for 13 people, which was not easy. Very good location. Big, spacious and clean apartment. Comfortable beds. Kitchen with everything you need. We felt the owner's care and attention all the time. Everything was Great ! Recommend !

The squeaky floors
The position in the city center is very convenient, you can get anywhere by foot. Although it is in the city center, it is very quiet and you can rest without problems. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and you also have activities for children: a box with toys and Disney+ channel. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. Th host is very nice and friendly and can give you tips where to eat and what to do around the town.

The stairs had me puffing a few times but that's probably for the best! Aside from a couple of mirrors required we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here
Loved the main room with the vaulted ceiling . Complimentary coffee was exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay here as it was so central for the city. Great to have parking on site, although a little tricky getting in and out. We will return on our next visit.

If you stay in a wonderful old loft property such as this just expect a few flights of stairs.
Location was fantastic and the apartment itself fresh and clean and renovated. Everything was lovely. We came in very very late and Hadrien was so helpful. Parking was great.

It was all good.
Lovely old townhouse full of character and charm in the old centre of Auxerre. The apartment itself was fresh, modern, well equipped, spacious and private.

The newly renovated apartment does need adjustments with the flooring - where there are small level differences between the rooms which could easily cause trips/falls. Once the rooms are more clearly defined and the apartment space reconfigured this accommodation could be spectacular!
Hadrien, although was not present at the property upon arrival we were able to communicate with him regarding our stay and was responsive fully answering our questions, stating he was out with his family and would come over and welcome us later. Clos St Eusebe apartment located with the winemakers house a 17 Century building in the heart of downtown Auxerre where all the shops accessible are in close proximity. The District of St Eusebe historically been the bourgeois part if the town.

the fact that I didn't discover this place sooner.
the size, amenities, owner, location, breakfast, everything was great. best stay I had on a 2 week biking trip thru Burgundy. Hadrian was very helpful in every way, English was very good.the apartment is large and a welcome relief after 12 days in mostly small hotel rooms. 2 bedrooms and nice shower. also good secure storage for our bikes. unless you're trying to stay budget I suggest you book this place.

We had stayed at mostly bnbs using other services for our trip. Every complaint we had was already thought about and remedied by Hadrian, the owner. There was a lockbox at the entrance to the parking/courtyard. Though as soon as we were there, someone was there to greet us and open the door anyway. They're stocked with toilet paper, soap, beds, baby beds, they've got kids' toys and games, and so on. It's clear that every time a client has asked for something in the past, Hadrian as made sure to keep the solution in place for future guests. Hadrian's family, who lives downstairs, is all super friendly as well.

There are lots of stairs. Well worth them, but wished we had packed better!
Tasteful and lovely refurbished apartment, very comfortable and well located. Hosts very friendly and straightforward.

The automatic fan in the bathr9was annoying at night, as it came on at every visit.
Hadrian's place is right in the centre of Auxerre. The beams in the place are lovely. It is well appointed and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Can’t fault the property.
We ended up stuck as our car broke down nearby and we had to find somewhere to stay very last minute. The host was very welcoming and friendly, we were a group of English people and he made us feel very at ease. The property itself was stunning, very clean and well presented- I especially liked the treat of having a coffee machine! Even though we did not plan to stay here we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend.
