Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fixed price breakfast needed to be pre ordered. While not a problem, we did tend to overorder because we didn't know how hungry we would be the next day. The smoked salmon at breakfast was of good quality but lemon slices weren't provided. WiFi was a little slow at times.
How is this only 3*? Thoroughly modern with decor of the 20's. There is a lift, aircon, a separate breakfast room, exotic walled garden (great for a coffee or pre dinner drink) and an acclaimed restaurant where the food was sublime. The wonderfully friendly staff spoke English but were kind enough to let us muddle through in limited French. The family also own another restaurant and a bistro/wine bar in town. I recommend booking in advance. The well appointed rooms are at rear of the hotel and the balconies overlook the garden. The town is very smart and home to a famous Basilica. It's only a few minutes to the historic town of Aurey with it quayside restaurants. Carnac beach is less than 20 minutes away.

The hotel could use an update cosmetically speaking but the friendly staff made up for it. The best surprise was the restaurant. I have traveled the world and have had great meal experiences. The chef at this hotel is so innovative and we were served one of the best meals I've ever had. You have to experience this for yourself. Haute cuisine in tiny St Anne-D'Auray. We were blown away.

United KingdomAlthough the bedroom was immaculately furnished, little thought had been given to the needs of those who need to work on a computer, or to charge telephones and other devices. There were two outlets at skirting level under the desk, both of which were in use, one for the desk lamp and one for the refrigerator. Fortunately I carry a selection of electrical adapters, but it was impossible to reach the sockets without getting down on all fours and crawling under the desk - and at 78, and not exactly sylph-like, getting down is uncomfortable but getting up again without heavy lifting machinery presents quite a challenge. There was also only one socket by the bed, again at skirting level and again already in use for a bedside lamp. The bed was equipped with sheets and blankets rather than the duvets most of us have become accustomed to. I find sheets and blankets uncomfortably restrictive. The only other disappointment was the surface of the car-park which is of an unfinished concrete that leaves one's shoes in a poor state in wet weather - and it was wet at the time of my visit. I am surprised the hotel management hasn't had it tarmacked
This hotel has been fitted with very high quality furnishings, My room was large, having a double bed, a leather armchair as well as a work desk, a circular table and a small refrigerator. There was also a single bed in a separate alcove. The restaurant was exceptional. It offered three menus at €36 (an unspecified 3-course meal), €53 (specified choices for each course) and €80+ for an unspecified 6-course bonanza (€110+ if you took the recommended wines with the meal). I chose the €53 offering, and was not disappointed. The restaurant staff were very attentive and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. The meal began with a plethora of mises-en-bouche, each presented in a novel manner, Each course was perfectly cooked - small quantities beautifully presented, with a sorbet between courses. A large selection of cheeses was available at extra cost. After the dessert, I chose a cognac to accompany the coffee. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, but took almost two hours to complete - if I visit this hotel again, I might try the €36 offering to see how it compares.

New ZealandAn amazing place to stay! A huge room, a sunny deck overlooking a lovely garden, leather armchairs to relax in, an espresso machine - everything was top notch. The evening meal the first night was a gourmets delight! The chef should have a Michelin star ⭐️ On the 3rd night we didn’t take the menu (once a year is enough for a meal like the first nights!) but the food a la carte was excellent . During the whole stay the staff were very attentive and helpful, and always cheerful and welcoming. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

United KingdomThe meal was good but very rich and rather too generous in portion size. It would have perhaps been better to have dined in the Brasserie further along the street.
