How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Coffee whitener/milk for coffee in the room would have been nice....but it is a minor detail; the coffee itself was of very good quality.
Great beds, quiet and spacious room, modern equipment. All great !

Beautiful family run hotel and spa, great location for one night stop (literally just off motorway). Secure private underground parking. Very friendly staff. Lovely spa area, albeit a bit busy. The real highlight was the exceptional dinner in the restaurant. Superb food.

Loud noise coming from inside the wall of the bedroom, leading to a rather sleepless night. Staff was not very apologetic or accommodating when this was reported the next morning.
Beautifully designed hotel and grounds with an outstanding restaurant.

used towels left by the clients on the benches here and there in several places in pool area and standing water on the floor in shower cabins in internal pool area
All was super. Pleasant reception, quiet ambiance, super good breakfast, quiet atmosphere in pools and sauna. We enjoyed relaxing atmosphere of the hotel.

The airconditioning in both our rooms (ours and my parents) didn't function. Perhaps an energy saving measure, but as a result we didn't sleep as well as we could have given the fantastic beds

The hotel is on the outskirts of a small town. It is a lovely hotel - very clean, comfortable and an ideal stop not too far from the airport.The free on-site parking was a real help. A small lake/ pond at the front of the hotel makes it a wonderful setting. Our room was great for an overnight stay, if staying for longer a room with a balcony would be our choice. The outdoor pool was very welcome for relaxing before dinner. There is also an indoor pool. There are several restaurants within walking distance as well as an onsite option. The breakfast was very nice and having an outside terrace is lovely for those who wish to eat outdoors. All of the staff we met were professional, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Beautiful garden, excellent restaurant, and staff are so kind and welcoming. The bed is super comfortable and the blackout curtain is very effective. Best sleep I had on my road trip.

We cannot think of any way this could be improved.
The staff are amazing, from giving us a welcome drink on arrival to giving us a pot of jam when leaving! The building is impressive, with excellent decor, and it is beautifully situated. The food is the best we have ever eaten in a hotel. The local town, which is just round the corner, is quaint and interesting.

Service at the bar was a little haphazard , although once served and directed to the terrace all was good . Breakfast seemed a tad expensive at Euro 21 per person , so we passed on that .
The taster menu for dinner was superb, on a very pleasant terrace and the wine was also top quality and good value . The staff were all very approachable and helpful.

Restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere. Other guests reserving the best seats with towels even though they were out all day!
The hotel was amazing, very luxurious and the facilities were great. We had a lovely welcome, you could tell it was a family hotel. Beautiful flowers everywhere, outside seating pools were lovely. Even storks nesting in the chimneys. Plat de jour was good value but local restaurants were good too. Near main sites eg colmar but without the crowds of tourists. We felt very rested staying there, just what we needed. They even gave us home made jam when we left.
