Good location, breakfast was not spectacular but definitely OK and very reasonable price. We stayed early Jan and rural towns like Confolens are not very lively at this period: that's why we like it.

There is no air conditioning so the room can get really hot.

The location is great if you want to experience the rural parts of France. The route is full great little towns and fantastic views. The staff are amazing. We requested a fan and and iron and they even ironed it for us. It’s a great place to stop by for a short night.

It was Bastille Day and we couldn't get a drink or meal at 10:30 each night although the town was packed.

Location was excellent. I have stayed in Confolens before and this was a better hotel. It also had off road parking.

No lift made if very difficult for my parents who are getting on and have some mobility issues. Forgot to check if it had a lift as just assumed it would have! Bathrooms were a bit small and cramped. Breakfast was a bit basic and the coffee (from the machine) wasn't great... the coffee from the bar the night before was excellent tho!

Rooms, linen and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Good size bedroom. Well equipped bathroom. Lovely views over the river. Good central location. Parking outside on the road was pretty easy and free. Friendly staff made us feel welcome (although limited English speakers but that's half the fun of travelling). There's a bar that opens onto the street which was nice to sit outside and have a drink at.

The first room we were given was above the bar on the street side and was noisy. BUT the management happily rehoused us on the quiet side facing the river.

It was unusual that there was no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. I expected that.

The bed was really comfortable and everything was clean. The hotel has a restaurant atrached which serves typical French food and the service there was friendly. My room was at the back, with a nice view of the river and bridge. I'm surprised it's only 2-star. It deserves more.

It was a shabby little hotel in a pretty shabby town. The bedroom needed decorating and updating. bathroom was adequate There was a bar facility which was good as there was nothing else open in this town. And to the lady who ran the restaurant I would say - Je ne parle peut-etre pas couramment mais au moins j'essaie. In English that translates to "I may not be fluent but at least I try!" I dont think they had a very good impression of English people.

i have to say there was nothing at this hotel I particularly liked, Dinner in the evening was reasonable. My main course came out cold but I complained and they re-heated with no particular issue.

Great service provided by all staff who were all friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices plus freshly baked pastries and traditional French bread. Food in the restaurant was beautiful, well above the 2star rating the hotel has and a credit to the chefs in kitchen.Bar was laden with multiple bottles of various alcohol's catering to many tastes.along with fresh coffee and french beer on tap. The hotel was spotless. I loved the style of round door handles on bedroom doors,some people may see them as dated but for me it was a bit of nostalgia and gives the hotel a unique rustic style and charm. Definitely stay here again and encourage friends and relatives to use the hotel as a base when on holiday in region or visiting.
