Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe pool area is being refurbished and not ready for use ..lots of work going on around that area. We used the restaurant for our evening meal and were really disappointed, the waiter was helpful but the food was not good. It felt like it had all been reheated , previously cooked ? so very dry , fish overcooked & the potatoes were raw inside. We did complain and apologies were given & our aperitif was free .
Spacious room , very clean, large comfy bed and a patio to sit outside . The hotel staff were really helpful . This hotel is part of a bigger complex with self catering chalets & camping . About a 10 minute walk to the beach .

IrelandBecause the resort is a distance from town it's not easy to get to a cafe or bakery. Food onsite wasn't great in terms of choice and healthy food not frozen pizzas, shop could be bigger and offer a wider choice. Cafe onsite for simple sit down fresh food/drink, the breakfast wasn't great for the price, just a coffee machine and no porridge or better choice of fresh fruit.
The pool, the family room, the staff and bike rental were all good. Lots of space and some good facitlities.

United Kingdom1. The restaurant - The first night after the initial disappointment about our surroundings, we went to the restaurant where we had booked a table for our fist night. We ended up in the bar terrace not the restaurant. When the food came it was cold, uncooked and not edible. We had to send it back but the attitude of the waitress was pretty appalling. She took the plates away and brought them back with a bad attitude and no apology. We didn’t eat there again. 2. The entertainment - loud with hammering beat and very close to the ‘hotel’ rooms. We stayed on other French campsites in previous years and the entertainment was typical and great if that’s what you are expecting.
I wish I had read more of the reviews as from the blurb I thought it was a hotel and didn’t realize it was accommodation on a campsite. Having said that the accommodation itself - room decor, comfy bed and terrace - and the facilities were very good just not what we were expecting or hoping for. Bike rental was good, esp as locals some distance from the main villages.

United KingdomThe food in the restaurant was good in evening, breakfast was 14€ per person and I think could have been better for the money.
The hotel room was really modern, clean and comfortable. The kids loved the pool and water slide. Maybe it was the time of year, but it was really quiet. Location was amazing and beach is very accessible from hotel.

IrelandSafe was broken and unavailable. Staff were often unfriendly and long queues at reception area for any queries. Very limited restaurant availability - booking is necessary. No other restaurants within walking distance so car was necessary.
Hotel room was really well designed. V comfortable bed, excellent lighting and storage. Towel dryer v convenient as cool night weather does not dry beach towels for next day.

Francethere isa major issue with this hotel that is not made clear on the Bookings.com site. The hotel is basically located in the middle of a large ‘camping’ hosting dozens of small chalets and mobile homes. Consequently the facilities are shared meaning an extremely crowded swimming pool and over booked restaurant serving moderate food. This contrasts highly with the romantic image on the site of a young couple bathing in a beautiful pool. Noisy camper style animations punctuate the evenings and the constant traffic of young children hurtling everywhere on bicycles provides a constant threat to the poor unsuspecting pedestrian. Our ‘patio’ was far from being private, it resembled a cattle padlock at the crossroads between the parking lot and reception, the furnishings consisted of a solitary pair of chairs and not table. The safe in the room was locked and had to be replaced (not being fixed in anyway
The room was well designed, clean and modern. the staff kind and helpful and it’s in a good location.

FranceStaff at reception was not excessively friendly. Breakfast was very basic for the high price (14€/person) and we were asked to pay upfront at the breakfast room when we decided to have it last minute. there was no way to charge it to the room. All in all the room was also too expensive for what it was.

United KingdomThe pool was great with lots of different depths and a water slide, but the pool area was a bit dirty with cracked and loose tiles. Definitely needs a spruce up. The restaurant was poor both in terms of choice of food and the service was very slow with several dishes we’d ordered not arriving. The bar ran out of Aperol and gin.
The hotel room (44) was excellent. Clean, spacious and well equipped. Great bathroom and balcony too.

NetherlandsI do think it was too pricy (240 p.n.), but we booked very late, and the whole of Ile de Ré seems rather expensive for acommodation in high season. You certainly do get an excellent room and a nice hotel for your money. Also regretfully the Les Grenettes beach (which is in easy walking distance) is not really developed (at least it didnt seem to be in the evening, when we were there), and you couldnt rent a surf board there (even though it had great waves, but it might be rocky). Nevertheless, probably it's also nice there during day time.
The family hotel room is of good size and in excellent condition, with a spatious balcony. The swimming pools are nice, and the restaurant had a limited, but excellent menu. There is also a pizzeria, a kid club, and some fun entertainment for the kids in the evening (in French, but our Dutch son of six also enjoyed it). It was an easy (10-15 minutes) ride away of the gorgious towns of Saint Martin de Ré and La Flotte, and the big lighthouse in the far west of the island is about 35 minutes away. We did everything by car, but you can also rent bikes at the hotel reception. It was a 6 minutes drive away of the Gros Joncs beach, which is the nearest guarded spot near La Rochelle for good wave surfing (in particular for beginners and intermediates). It also has a wave surf school with renting possibilities, two other schools for wind (and perhaps kite) surfing and sailing, a Spa, and some restaurants.

Arrived with good faith and paid well in advance 7 months so booking was an old booking, at no point did anyone contact us to say there would be no restaurant or bar, even when we arrived said it Would be open. The front staff did Not care or return our email we gave them a chance to communicate with us. We had to chase cleaning of our room and left rubbish behind, the bathroom smelt Of drains, the pool filters where disgusting, very bad management of staff and checking overall and housekeeping check on cleaning not good standard zero points for customer services. United KingdomStayed here previously and had a really pleasant stay so decided to return. However was very disappointed on our return visit. Bar and restaurant were closed all week due to a block booking, leaving the paying guests with nowhere to eat or drink. Even more annoying no-one had even bothered to tell us. Spoke to staff who didn't really seem to care, manager didn't even bother to address our complaint or apologise ... still awaiting a reply from the hotel to my written complaint. Bad customer service ... shame on you! Won't be returning.....

United KingdomWhen viewing the property in the app, it give you no indication that what you're getting is rooms in the middle of a camp site. I thought that I had booked a very nice exclusive hotel experience, not a French version of hi de hi..... Our room was very basic, things included (according to the booking app), bath robes,---er,no. Coffee making machine, er...no. Mini Bar...er... well you get the picture. We had a kettle and some sachets of coffee, but no milk, when we asked for milk we were told that none was available!? The condition of the room was poor.

IrelandIT IS MORE A CAMPSITE THAN A HOTEL. EVEN THE CAMPSITE SHOP ON THE GROUNDS WAS CLOSED. THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT WAS QUITE POOR FOR THE VERY HIGH PRICES. WE WERE NOT GIVEN THE ROOM WE BOOKED. WHEN I REQUESTED THE ROOM WE BOOKED THE STAFF BLAMED BOOKINGS. COM FOR FALSE ADVERTISING. ON THE SECOND DAY WE WERE LOOKED OUT OF OUR ROOM FOR 2 HOURS BECAUSE THE KEYS DIDN'T WORK. EVENTUALLY THE HOTEL BROKE INTO THE ROOM TO GET OUR BELONGINGS,WE MOVED TO ANOTHER ROOM. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WE WERE LOCKED OUT BUT THIS TIME THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED FASTER. ON THE THIRD DAY WE WERE WOKEN BY A MAN STANDING INSIDE OUR ROOM HE HAD COME TO FIX THE LOCK, HE NEVER KNOCKED JUST WALKED STRAIGHT IN. WE REQUESTED THE MANAGER TO CALL US, IT NEVER HAPPENED. NO TAXI SERVICE AT THIS PROPERTY YOU HAD TO USE A BUS STOP 10 MIN AWAY TO GET TO NEAREST VILLAGE ABOUT 10 - 15 MIN AWAY BY BUS.
IT WAS SUNNY
