Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room that I had booked originally was not renovated and it was a “Superior”, certainly not in my eyes.
The renovated rooms were very nice. Isolating windows so I didn’t hear a thing on the busy street.

United KingdomThe room was extremely small, the mirror light buzzed, and other than the bathroom, the room was extremely poorly lit, making it hard to get ready. The cleaners cupboard was right next to our room and we were woken up by her being on the phone at 7am on Sunday morning.

DenmarkThere was renovation outside my room, meaning the windows was covered up in a scaffolding and plastic so there were nothing to see. I survived, but just a heads up if you're hoping for a nice view.
The elegance of the rooms, a comfortable bed and a spacy bathroom. Sound proof windows helped keeping the noise from the buzzling square outside to a minimum.

United StatesThere was no early check-in and the luggage storage was self-service without any security oversight. The housekeeping service was inconsistent during our extended stay at the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located opposite the Gare St Lazar and major retails such as Printemp and Galerier Lafayette. There are plenty of public transportation to choose from to visit all the city attractions which many are also walking distance.

SingaporeBathroom is a little small but still manageable. OK since there are only 2 of us. Can imagine it is difficult if there are 4 in the family room
Good location next to St Lazare - easy to take a train to Palace Versailles. Upgraded to a family room but there are only two of us. Clean

TurkeyThe beds were very old and very uncomfortable. I woke up in the morning with back pain. The room was very dusty. Despite being for 3 people there were only 2 glasses in the room. Receptionists seemed unhappy, sullen and nervous. There were two female employees at breakfast on Sunday. The one with shorter stature, make-up and long eyelashes was very nervous and angry. When she was clearing the tables, everything was banging together and making a lot of noise. She was slamming the chairs on the table and disturbing everyone with the noise she made. We thought she has a problem.
There was little cheese variety at breakfast, no olives, but the croissants were great. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Location was great. Although it was a triple room, it was very spacious. Despite being on the street, it was pretty quiet. The lobby was small but very nice and enjoyable place.

NetherlandsThere were few wall sockets, and only on one of the sides of the bed. The bathroom and room were clean, but with a lot of spots missing, so there was dust in the corners and on top of small objects. The sink in the bathroom was not well clean in the corners. It was very acceptable though. And most importantly: no weird or bad smells.
The location is one of the best I’ve ever had in Paris, that was the best part. The hotel has a classic décor and it was quite clean for Parisian standards. Elevator is small, but sufficient for 2 persons with hand luggage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked a room with 2 single beds because in the pictures I had the impression the double beds were small. I think that was a good decision, we slept really well, with enough space in comfy beds. We had a room with windows facing the street, but had no noise problems because the isolation is very good. I liked the fact that the bathroom was spacious enough, as well as the rest of the room. Breakfast is not included and you can pay € 10,50 per person if you want to have it. It is a very simple breakfast, but it was good enough for us. However if you love a large and varied hotel breakfast, I would advise against having it in there.

BulgariaThe locations is great, a lot of the sights are within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. They kindly suggested restaurants for dinner in the area which turned out to be excellent. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfast was varied enough. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

SwitzerlandIt's probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I had a room on the first floor and I could barely sleep because of the noise, even with earplugs. The hotel sits on top of the metro line and every time the metro passes (which happens ever couple of minutes) the whole building trembles, really weird... There is no isolation to the hallway and my room was located next to the place where they server breakfast which is pretty loud. Last but not least, the hotel goes through construction work on the facade which means that there is no view from the window, just workers that pass in front of your window and as you can guess... make noise. The price that they ask is ridiculous given the poor conditions.

United KingdomStaff on arrival late from UK - check-in was delayed and additional taxes were proposed by the desk staff. This delay was unacceptable as the children were tired and wanting to sleep - we could have had the discussion next day (which I insisted after I talk to booking.com to confirm). It turned out the taxers were all inclusive in the quote and I did not have to pay the hundreds of euros which they proposed the night before and I had to confirm with booking.com helpline.
Good size room for the 3 kids but certainly not a quadruple room as noted.

Hong KongThe three-bedroom is not what I have seen in the photo at Booking.com. The hotel added a bed in the living room, which limited the moving space. There was also no water supply on the second day's morning, and the customer service just responded slowly and uninterestedly.
I didn't book the breakfast. The location of the hotel is very convenient.
