How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Perhaps give the doors a fresh coat of paint and clean the balcony once a year?
Staff attended to my requests very quickly and the privacy of my room is great! Rather small room, which suited me as I am small sized. Unsure if it's ideal for 2 people even though there are 2 beds. Could be a tight squeeze with little elbow space.

Excellent location. 5 mins walk to the Sanctuary. I booked a single room with single bed for 6 nights. If you are solo travellers it is good value for money.

My bathroom was missing a door. The heater in the room was not working. And there was no way to get drinking water. They advised me to drink from the tap in the bathroom and now I’m sick with a viral throat infection
They allowed me an early checkin (2 hours) and a late checkout (1 hour)

No door on the bathroom - fine for a single room but not ideal if sharing!

Mattress sunk/lack of spoons/cups in the room/poor pillows but any problems are easy fixes.
Great location and good staff,nice basic on suite bedroom with a balcony close to the sanctuary.

I think sort of staff, sometimes the front desk are not there and i found out that he is as well a housekeeper giving some amenities for guest needed.thank u

very rundown. walls needed serious painting. would rate it more a 1-star than 2-3. the staff told me front door closes at midnight (you meed a code to get in). i arrived 11:40 and door was closed. almost had to sleep in my car. thankfully someone from hotel answered the bell ring after a few minutes. hotel needs serious upkeeping.
good location and good price. room had nice street view. room was clean

The evening receptionist was horrible. Room 304, hot water in the shower gets cut off and cold water flows????. TV pictures distorted . The small electric heater is not adequate for the room and bathroom. Didn't replace shower gel sachets or the towel very thin. Room was not cleaned. No facility to have boiling water. Didn't have WiFi for two days, as the evening staff was not interested helping. He said something is wrong with my phone. Wall are very thin . Can hear what happen next
Had a lift. Morning receptionist was good. ESy access to the Sanctuary.

Need to install sound proof in the walls
The location was excellent. close to the grotto and also close to the shops. The restaurants are close by the bridge. All is a walking distance. The staff very helpful. They gave us extra towels. Staff provided all that we requested for and on time.

The room was very small, with nowhere to hang towels and perhaps 10 hangers for clothes. There wasn't really even space to leave one's suitcase open and live out of that -- one had to keep it closed and put it on the bed every time one wanted something. Also, although the hotel claims to have parking, this is very restricted and not bookable. One is sent up the road to a carpark that belongs to two hotels that are closed ... but sometimes that is full too. Better book a better hotel without parking and pay the 15 euros per day to leave your car at a covered car park in the street below. Also there was no air-conditioning. In summer, this was a killer. No fan either. Whew!
The staff were very nice and responded to everything immediately as best they could. The location was also excellent, with just a few minutes walk to the grotto.
