Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThere is nothing that we did like.
Actually there is no real restaurant (as they claimed on paper). Except breakfast, all they have offered for a dinner is frozen pizza (halal) from the fridge. There are no restaurants in the neighbourhood either, so you would need to travel to the city. The hotel itself is requiring a decent renovation. Certainly not 4 stars but below 2 stars level.

GermanyThis hotel is not in a safe location! Our car window was busted and car broken into while parked on the hotel's free roof parking (Garage parking is available for a fee & I recommend using that if you choose this location). We had no idea our car was broken into until the next morning. The staff members stated that they called every single room in the hotel overnight and that the police had come to the hotel. However, they did NOT call every room. Turns out, they called my teenager in the next-door room and he did not understand what they were saying and asked them to call his parents. Even though the staff members were abrasive and insistent that they called every room, they did not call our room so we were not able to speak to the police at the hotel. This meant that I had to drive my family to the police station the next morning to file a report. Thankfully, the police officer was helpful. We ended up cleaning the car on our own. The hotel offered but I wasn't sure that the police had taken pictures yet, so we drove to the station with the glass everywhere and cleaned up afterwards. If I had been able to speak to the police at the hotel, this would have been something that the hotel could have helped us with and would have saved us a lot of time. In addition to the break-in and the hotel not calling us, the hotel staff members also asked for our credit card multiple times which isn't how Holiday Inn usually does things. They also did not ask us for our car's information like most hotels do. If they had asked for our car information, they would have known which room we were in and could have knocked on our door. Lastly, rooms were not very clean. Holiday Inn's are usually cleaner than our rooms were in Lyon. Specifically, the pull out couch mattress had a huge pee (I assume) stain on the mattress. The sheets and blanket were clean but it's pretty gross that the mattress was stained like that.
We originally chose this property for the closeness to the highway and available free parking. It is conveniently located to the highway.

QatarThe bathroom was not clean. The entrance to the hotel lobby had a bad smell. The room was dusty and my wife and I kept sneezing.
The breakfast was the best thing about the hotel, though you might need to catch it a bit early on before some of the things run out.

GermanyEverything, as is notable on the pics, there was no AA, they told us it was an issue from last week, but after reading the reviews we see this is more than a year situation. The room wasn’t clean perfectly, the 2nd bed was more a hammock than a bed. After we complaint about the room they said they will give us some sort of refund, 15% only. At least was a short stay, so we didn’t have to suffer to much
The breakfast and actually we booked the location to be close to the road easily in the morning.

She earns all the credits for doing such a hard work! There were 3 people sick and she was almost alone for everything! The dinning was terrible, The terras was full of people, the chef and Zohra all by themself! We had to wait for almost 3hours for dinner?. Not a good bussines for Holiday Inn!
The rooms were in good condition.

United StatesAC broken, room was incredibly hot and outdated. We stayed here just to sleep for the night and picked it for convenience cause it’s right off the freeway, but I would never stay here otherwise or again. I would say this particular Holiday Inn was akin to a Super 8 motel in America…woof. Stay away!
Right off the freeway, so convenient if you’re just looking for a place to sleep
