Nothing. Everything was excellent.

We loved everything about this property. Our hosts Ilse & Dennis really made us feel at home with drinks and food nibbles on arrival served out in their beautiful courtyard. We were travelling with our dog Aria who was also treated as if she was in her own home. The house is really spectacular and decorated to a 5 star hotel standard. Excellent facilities in bedroom including a fruit basket and water and there was tea and coffee making facilities in a very comfortable common area with a log burning stove. We had dinner that evening which was delicious and was prepared by Ilse who is a professional chef. Breakfast was deliciously prepared by Dennis with a large selection of products including lovely eggs and bacon. The food here is 5 star standard. We would strongly recommend this place to stay for one or more nights and we will definitely be back.

This is a very Pet friendly place, excellent for any traveler with their doggy friend. Make sure you ask for dinner at the house, the food was absolute fantastic. The owners were very friendly and helpful. You will feel home away from home.

We enjoyed our stay and have no criticisms to add.

We feel fortunate to have found this accommodation as a break during a trip to the Basque Country. The warm welcome we received from our hosts and overall hospitality was much appreciated. The accommodation is very pleasant and decorated to a high standard and in good taste. We had opted to take the dinner option which was very good. Overall we could not have expected more.

The shower interior was black and quite dark, it needed an additional light in that area.

It was very quirky, the owners had spent time and thought renovating their project to provide a beautiful hideaway where you could want for very little whether it be an overnight stay or a longer trip. The jacuzzi was amazing even in outdoor temperatures of -1 to +1 C.

The property was well appointed. Our room and bed were super comfortable with water and coffee provided and plenty of hot water. We were able to browse Dennis’s record collection and play some discs and made use of the sauna. The log fires were also very welcome.

The hosts are extremely keen to be very welcoming and accompany guests as they eat at the common dining table. We would have preferred them to be a bit more hands off as we just really wanted some peace and quiet. Ilse in particular can be forthright in her opinions.

Fabulous food and wines! Ilse is an amazing chef. Dennis is friendly and both hosts go out of their way to make sure guests are comfortable, with everything that they need. Beautifully restored historic property. Very thoughtfully and comfortably fitted out. Coffee machine and tea-making facilities available for the rooms. Cosy, private living room. Spa area with hot tub and sauna in the barn, with a view over the countryside. Extremely welcoming hosts.

We loved everything and hope we can go back one day in the summer to explore the area.

It was lovely that we could check-in at 3 pm on a wet afternoon and be warmly greeted by our Dutch host. As we were the only guests that night we were upgraded to a beautiful bedroom in the ground floor right next to a sitting room with log burner. It was so comfortable and tastefully furnished and we enjoyed an aperitif there before going through to the dining room for a candlelit dinner prepared by Ilse. A fantastic experience by a couple who know how to look after their guests.

Loved everything about it! The room was beautiful, the hosts, Dennis & Ilse, were so friendly and welcoming. Lovely sitting room to relax with a glass or two wine and some very tasty complimentary The food at dinner and breakfast was amazing, we'll definitely be back.

This place is a gem. The room was pretty, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. What set Mas De Gourmands apart were the relaxed and attentive owners Ilsa and Denis. Our dog was made to feel welcome too. They have an honesty bar with a pool table and a large barn with a cosy wood burner and seating for a pre dinner drink. Ilsa was a top restaurant chef and worked with Gordon Ramsey so the food was wonderful. It’s was a great two night relax on our drive down to Spain.

Ilse and Dennis are really great hosts. Their home / Mas is more an excellent mini-hotel than a chambre d'hotes. The facilities decoration, welcome and style are impeccable. Dennis gave us drinks and snacks from his bar when we arrived, and Ilse's dinner was generous, delicious and personally prepared to our tastes on both visits, and served with Ilse's excellent choice of wines. We had time in hand on our departure day, so we stayed longer, had a lovely walk in the countryside, and enjoyed a specially-prepared lunch under the sunny awning. After years of struggling with hotels in cities, this has turned out to be our very best place to break the long journey through France: it recaptured a whole day of our holiday, which otherwise had been lost to travelling. Only one thing to note - they have two small & friendly well-behaved dogs - which was fun- and two larger ones too, so let them know if you're not a doggy person! This is the first time I've ever given a hotel five stars on every rating - and it's a pleasure to do so :) Oh - i forgot to mention the super breakfast: don't miss it!

The property is extremely well equipped, facilities are great, I was part of group of friends and turned out we had the whole property for ourselves, which was very positive outcome. The hosts are very friendly the highlight of the evening was the dinner Ilsa prepared for us, when we booked we did not have any expectation, but what we got was amazing, we had michelin dinner day before and Ilsa’s dinner hands down was on the same level even better. We spent one night, but would love to stay for a longer time to take in all the benefits of the property. I hope to come back one day again. Best recommendations.

Lovely location, very clean, comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. After a long journey it is the perfect place to arrive at. Sitting outside in the pretty garden with a glass of chilled Rosé and homemade canapés before enjoying a delicious dinner, prepared by Ilse, was wonderful. A great breakfast, was waiting for us the next morning prepared by Dennis. Thank You Ilse and Dennis for making us feel so welcome, we will be back.

Nothing, apart from we only stayed one night.

The outside of the property is lovely and very relaxing. There is a wood fired hot tub and a games room with an honesty bar. The bedrooms were lovely and so comfortable. There is a communal lounge, which is also relaxing with coffee & tea facilities. Dennis & Isle made us feel very welcome. We had drinks and snacks on arrival and in the games room before dinner. We had a wonderful dinner that was cooked by Isle. Even though we left early the next day, Dennis went and got us pastries for breakfast and made us a pack lunch to take with us. I would say that it’s the best overnight stay that we have ever had 😊

A gem of a place to stay. Perfect location, beautiful rooms, the most comfortable beds, and linen. Isle and Dennis are 'the perfect hosts'. The food prepared - both breakfast and the evening meal were the top - in fact, the best food we ate in our 12-day trip. If you are looking to stay in the area, do not look any further - just call and book! We would love to return,and shall if we get the opportunity! Isle & Dennis - a big thank you from Tim & Di.
