We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

IrelandUpon arrival, the staff took my name and said there was no reservation. I gave them the booking number and confirmation number etc and still apparently no reservation. They had an attitude that almost seemed cheeky as they asked was I sure I booked the right property. After being told they needed my reservation number (which is the exact same as my confirmation and I showed them this) and back and forth for a while, it was found. They next proceeded to tell me that I hadn’t paid and said they were going to charge my card. I had in fact paid it all and showed them the receipt, to which I might add they had a random card number which did not match any of mine. Only good thing about the staff was the room was ready early so we could go in earlier than expected - to make up for the mess before.
The room was basic but was fine for a short stay. There was a pool which we did not use and facilities for breakfast. These weren’t advertised to us by the staff so we weren’t sure where anything was located.

United KingdomWell, where do i start! We got to the Hotel early around 12noon we left our bags with the Receptionist who ignored us for a bit. We knew we could not get in until 4pm. He said we could leave our bags, the room would be ready for 3pm. We went to explore Anglet. We arrive back 4pm giving them enough time. We got the keys and headed to our room. When we opened the door to our room the SMELL (sewage) hit us, thought it was because the room had been shut up (hot) but when we opened the patio door to the balcony to air the room the smell never left. My friend flushed the toilet as we thought something had been left in the toilet but this did not work. The room had not been cleaned properly, food on the floor, dirt all around and could not even enter the bathroom without wanting to be sick. We left the Room straight away (my Friend was physically sick), we left the door open to the patio to keep the room aired. We went to the Reception to ask to be moved, they refused to move us as apparently the Hotel was fully booked! Customer service was poor, we felt like we were blamed for not liking the room, it was not the fact we did not like the room it was not possible to stay in this room due to the smell, Krystyna rang the Technician to go and look at the room, he said after 5 minutes that he had put some disinfectant down the drains, when my friend and I went back to the room to check, it was like the Smell had been masked by strong disinfectant (Toxic). I then got a very bad headache. There was no way we could have stayed in this room with this Toxic Smell. Krystyna then said we could cancel but would not get our money back for the first night, :-( but I cancelled expecting to get money back for the next 3 nights (as we had booked 4nights) Booking.com sent me an email saying they had contacted the Hotel to waive the cancellation fee, they claim they have not received this email to get the money back we are still waiting, booking.com have now sent 3 emails with no response

United KingdomAfter being moved to a new room sadly things got far worse. On returning from our night in Biarritz we could not enter our bedroom as the key would not be recognised. So we spent the entire night in a 200 bedroom complex in reception on a leather sofa. We tried to ring the emergency number but there was no answer night long. I would have not liked it if this had been by a young person(s) as there was no keypad entry anyone could walk in and we were stuck there all night. Even a guest who was French messaged the 'emergency number' in french and got the reply that somebody would be there in 15 minutes. That person never arrived and so an entire night was lost to no sleep and most of the next day. Once again the reception disbelieved us and tried to tell us that the person we were ringing thought we said 57 not 47 - but they still never attended as we were waiting all night so this was a lie by the team as we were in the reception waiting. Still awaiting some sort of compensation. Horrible avoid at all costs - unsafe - worrying if fire or security issue. Booking.com must surely have some responsibility to there users - remove this hotel!
Very little went well as the first introduction to the staff was when the receptionist refused to believe me that the bed was broken.

Fabulous location and views, with great access to the beach, restaurants & bars. The main surfing areas were great to . Free on-site parking a real bonus. Very accessible

Portugalwe ended up having to book elsewhere, we had arranged to check in at 9pm, when we arrived the desk was closed and was no staff, we received no texts to warn, after was an email which we only saw after we went elsewhere we drove 750km from portugal, we drove 750 miles to a locked door. I am very angry and want my money back. we arrived about 8pm.

United KingdomOnly being there for an overnight stop, I feel it's unfair to give negative comments, the apartments were full of what looked like happy holiday families. We have stayed here before for an overnight stop.
It being the height of summer traffic was very busy and although we had stayed here before the entrance had moved but we eventually got to reception got the keys and proceeded to our room it was like maze getting to the room, apartment was very adequate for us for an overnight stop, from apartment balcony is a golf course which offers pleasant view. - there were facilities on site which we didn't use, parking is a free for all, so you have to drive around grounds to park until you find a vacant parking plot. this apartment was the cheapest accommodation I could find for an overnight stop, for two adults & two children, I have no complaints at all. Across from apartments on the prom there is a very busy bar which serves food - quite expensive but given its location - overlooking the sea - understandable.
