No warm welcome in the restaurant, unfriendly and unattentive chap. We were happy to see other staff (young women) taking over and ate a nice dinner (ceviche and sea bream).

Friendly staff, with smiles and cookies for the doggy, nice and light interior, great room with small fridge.

The breakfast was a complete shambles. Everything was in short supply. The juice had gone, the coffee machine had no milk. The breakfast was generally in short supply.The staff seemed oblivious to what was happening. A true lack of leadership. We have stayed here numerous times and have always been pleased with everything. I don’t want to complain but you need to get things organised.

We had a “privilege room with double bed”. No bigger room was available. The room was small, no robes, few amenities. Other Mercure properties where we stayed had bigger rooms and nicer amenities for the same price.

Perfect location to see the chateau and explore town. Many restaurants near by. Convenient public parking nearby.

There wasn’t much left at breakfast even though I went at around 9am. A large party of guests had clearly eaten earlier and finished most of it!! I just had croissants and coffee.

Our bed was 2 singles zipped together. But the room fittings , lights and light switches were not set up for double and we kept bumping our heads on the light shade and switching the lights off when we sat up in bed!

Service at the breakfast was just below any expectations.. We came in 40 mins before closure. There were messy tables all around, NO cutlery, NO glasses, NO cups and NO plates. I kindly asked a staff member to clean one table for us near the window, but the expression he made was like if I’d asked him to clean my room. He showed us to another table which was half lower with lower chairs, perfect for drinks but uncomfortable for eating, said ‘thank you’ as a sign of no further discussion possible, and went off to his business. Cups and cutlery arrived at least 15 mins later, the orange juice pressing machine was broken, and there was no staff available to help/attend. Thankfully the food was still available. But the overall impression was really bad.

As 4* hotel it is too basic- the furniture, the interior in general. For example, the air-conditioning in our room was so noisy, that it was almost impossible to sleep. The fridge was not working and the receptionist cannot find any other solution as just offer a drink, which was kind from his side.

The hotel is in excellent location, in the heart of town, just next to Marie and Château. The Chateau has a beautiful park for running. The hotel serves continental breakfast, the staff was friendly.

Dinner: I tried to have dinner but the restaurant was fully booked (at check in they could advise to book restaurant). Room service is from same restaurant so they couldnt offer me room service until after 9pm (It was 630 pm). The bar/lounge wouldnt offer a sandwich. In general the bar staff seemed to just want to say no to me looking for food. But as mentioned above the italian restaurant were helpful, friendly and great food. Beer was cold too :-)

Hotel location was good, the property is nice and functional. The little italian restaurants gets a big thumbs up for friendly staff and good food. Gym was small but works fine and nice to have the option. Close to park so that was great. nice atmosphere and in morning (Saturday) there is a fruit and veg market outside.

Nothing major, just little bits like slight mould growing in bathroom, bad paint jobs, broken shower slider so it wouldn't stay up. Didn't affect our stay.

Lovely location right by the castle, Saturday Market and walking distance to lots of restaurants. Large rooms with comfy bed.

If you are looking to have drinks or coffee in the late afternoon you may have to wait a bit as it can get quite busy. This is not a big deal - just need to manage expectations.

It's a family-friendly hotel close to the chateau. Breakfast was quite good. They had a wide selection.
