Amazing breakfast and perfect location!

We loved our stay at Montis Maurelli. A secluded and quiet spot where we had the chance to unwind and relax. It was wonderful to stay somewhere so peaceful on a weekend escape from London! Herve the owner was so accommodating and helpful, he offered us tips for exploring the local area and has made such a gorgeous setting for a B&B. We had breakfast looking out on beautiful views of the village and surrounding countryside. He also made the most amazing breakfast, we were certainly never hungry! We had a lovely, calm, peaceful stay and would highly recommend it for a long weekend.

Nothing everything was fantastic. I genuinely cannot fault this accommodation.

This was an excellent stay and far exceeded our expectations. The room was large and spotlessly clean, all the comforts you could ask for were there, toiletries, tea and coffee making, many chairs, cushions, nice linen, lamps. The windows had shutters so the room was lovely and cool. The bathroom was excellent, spotlessly clean and the shower was good. The view was lovely which we could see form the beautiful terrace or out our window. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE, we were treated like kings and queens and the breakfast had everything you could want, coffee, juice, eggs, cakes, cheese, crepe, waffle, bread, homemade jam... the list goes on! The host was lovely spoke amazing english and could not do enough for us. It was truely relaxing and it was an incredible 3 night stay. We would return.

There isn’t anything that we didn’t like about the property we were six adults and we all enjoyed it

it is a lovely property in a beautiful setting it is quiet and peaceful you look out over a valley onto the village below the views are extensive and made extra special that you can view from your bedroom window the shutters can be folded back the windows can be fully opened inward A beautifully laid out reception and someone meet you immediately the decor is perfect and in perfect condition the whole layout is so inviting you are taken up to your rooms the beds are comfortable the decoration is beautiful The bathrooms are superb modern showers with overhead flexible and body shower in a lovely cubicle and amply sized for the biggest of us It is a very modern bathroom all looking brand-new but set in the past the beds were comfortable and we slept well. We came down to breakfast the table was laid beautifully there was fruit salad on the table in front of you And on another beautiful laid out table that was all the continental selection the croissant’s were exceptional we would offer tea and coffee which was perfect.

it was very old, but beautifully restored. it was on the edge of the town, but with a beautiful view of the chateau on the hill. The room was large, as was the bed, and although decorated in an very nice older French style, the bathroom was done in a very modern way. There was everything that we needed in the room. The breakfast was exceptional, with a fresh fruit cocktail, yoghurt, baguette, croissants, brioche and home made jam. Bacon and eggs were on offer, with the eggs cooked whichever way you wanted, with tea or coffee to wash it down. The host was very attentive, and spoke in French or English. Nothing was too much trouble for him. we would recommend it to anyone, who wanted a nice peaceful, relaxing break.

If I really need to say something negative, maybe having A/C in the rooms would have been better but honestly, they provided us with good fans and we were perfectly fine.

10/10 is actually not enough for this exceptional place! We only stayed for one full day, but besides the fantastic breakfast and food, beautiful views and charming room, it was the amazing host that made us feel more than welcome and at home. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, highly recommended!

We had a truly wonderful 3 night stay at Montis Maurelli. The host Herve is truly wonderful and provides a grand breakfast everyday with crepes, croissant as big as your hand, eggs and bacon at request, juices, fruits, homemade jams, coffee, tea…. The list goes on. The setting is absolutely beautiful for taking breakfast or relaxing with a book and a beer in the afternoon or evening. Opening your curtains to that view every morning is priceless. It is also very peaceful, so despite being in the countryside, you will E njoy sleeping well. A must visit and we highly recommend.

Beautiful location, ideal for attending Château de Lerse weddings. Exceptionally clean. Large comfortable room and bed. Breakfast on the terrace. Short walk to nearby town and supermarket. Friendly, personal service. Great WiFi.

Everything was perfect no fault whatsoever.

Everything about Montis Morelli is perfect. The host cannot do enough for you. We booked as we were attending a wedding nearby, and we were so lucky to have found this place. Breakfast was delicious, homemade jam and cakes. Lovely coffee too. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the decor is French chic, quite luxurious. We stayed on an extra night because we really didn't want to leave. I recommend Montis Morelli for an overnight stay or longer if you are spending time in the area, you are guaranteed to love it.

I can’t think of anything!

Montismaurelli is the most beautiful property set in a stunning peaceful location. Although the property is old, the rooms have been tastefully modernised with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. The owner was charming and went out of his way to look after us perfectly during our stay. nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was served outside on the patio with the most beautiful views. The food was delicious and included homemade jams, freshly baked bread & cakes, & a variety of seasonal fruit. Eggs, crepes and other options were also available if you had a large enough appetite! On our last night we were offered a light supper on our return to the property after a function at Chateau de Lerse. it was the perfect way to end our stay in the peace & calm of Montismaurelli. Thank You!

That I wasn’t staying longer.

Perched in the north west, slightly elevated part of Montmoreau, an amazing welcome awaits you at Montis Maurelli. The host Hervé renovated this ancient property bought by his grandmother in 1936. Every part of it has been designed impeccably by him with his very fine attention to detail. Sumptuous room with a comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean, fabulous view over to the village, castle and beyond from the window. Every effort is made to make your stay more comfortable. Lovely fresh country air. He makes and sells artisan jams and jellies from local fruit. Dining on the terrace was also a pleasure😄 I can highly recommend!

Nothing is wrong about this accomodation.

The quiet and gorgeous surroundings, view from the breakfast/ drinks/dinner terrace. The host is very friendly and gives you a welcome feeling without intervening in your privacy. We had very extended breakfasts with a lot of extra’s, very tasteful diners and good wine. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious with everything you need, very clean with good beds.We have been here for the third time which is not what we usually do, but this is definitely worth more visits .

A little bit out of the village- but to be honest worth it',

The room was beautiful with stunning views over the village and countryside. Breakfast on the terrace was an absolute pleasure. The quality of breakfast was also very good, with home made jams and plenty of choice. Host super helpful with restaurant booking and getting us some wine to enjoy on the terrace.
