It was really all great.

Charming, friendly hosts. Beautifully restored and furnished house. Lovely location by the river. Quiet at night. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast - toast, croissants, cheese, cold meats, preserves, orange juice, yoghurts, good coffee.

We missed the second day breakfast because at 7.30 the door still wasnt open even though breakfast started at 7.30 according to the owner. At 7.50 we left after knocking on the door without answer… We then left the hotel without saying bye or checking out just leaving the keys because nobody was to be found… shame . I recommend making sure gets can get thwir breakfast on time. On the second day, though my room was cleaned , i did not get a fresh towel to shower…

Everything. Attention to detail both in decor and little touches. Wine in room, a small pot of sweets, water. Beautiful and comfortable bed. When I contacted due to farmers blockade, Colin replied promptly. It was a pleasure to meet Both Colin and Shane at breakfast, and we will certainly be back, it was also lovely to meet two people who are passionate about what they do. Oh, and the breakfast. 12/10

This is the second time I have stayed at this accommodation. The accommodation is perfect for recharging your batteries on a longer trip, but also to feel at home here for several days. Colin has designed the rooms to be extremely tasteful, comfortable and friendly. Another great advantage is that you can park your car safely in the private car park. We will certainly use this in the future, perhaps for several days.

Colin & Shane are excellent hosts and their home is beautiful. The room was warm & comfortable & came down to a delicious breakfast. The location is also excellent, in the heart of the town but very scenic with views over the Charente river.

It wasn't a big deal but we didn’t see any shutters for the windows at night.

Large spacious attractive room with sofa to relax. Carafe of wine. Wonderful big mugs for tea or coffee - very rare nowadays. Comfortable bed. Friendly hosts and a wholesome breakfast with Yorkshire tea on offer.

We chose the accommodation as a stopover for our journey by car because of the tasteful furnishings. However, the accommodation is much more than just attractively furnished. We felt at home from the first minute because of the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly welcome by the hosts. Actually far too beautiful to stay just one night

There is nothing to dislike.

Easily located and situated centrally. A former dental studio which has been carefully and sensitively renovated. The room was spacious and the bed really comfirtable. There was space to sit on a comfortable settee and tea and coffee and wine were provided. There are restaurants available in close proximity. Parking was perfect in the grounds of the chambre d'hote. Breakfast was delicious. There was plenty of fruit and the croissants and pastry were delicious as was the coffee. We hope to return in the future.

Where do I start?! Such a stylish place to stay and so very comfortable. The lovely fluffy pillows were just like home, the delicious wine in the room and very good coffee in the room. We could not fault anything. So good to meet and talk to Shane & Colin. Colin has so many great ideas for the future and we wish you both the best of luck in the future.

There is nothing not to like.

There is so much more than the photos disclose. Make sure you explore and enjoy all the beautiful spaces to sit and relax. It is so worthy of more than an overnight stop. The breakfast is delicious, healthy and enough to keep you fueled for the day. We arrived by bicycle ready for a rest and it was delivered in spades. There was also great accommodation for our bikes. Highly recommended. We will return.
