Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe thin door of the room didn't help to keep out the noises. One of the 4 receptionists I met was impolite. Even if the bathroom was very new, the extractor fan did not work to keep the room cool after the shower, and no extra shower gel on the second day.
The hotel is close to the center, just 10 mins walk. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked pretty well. The bathroom was very new, with bath. However the toilet kit consisted only on one soap and a small shower gel. The room was tiny and the door was very old and thin, so I could hear the room neighbors. The staff was kind and really professional, expect for one receptionist who was pretty impolite and bit aggressive when I inadvertently asked for the wrong key room number.

ItalyTiny washbasin with a shelf just above It, quite uncomfortable.. Hard to open the windows because they collide with the metal bars that sustain the curtains. But these are not big issues.
Friendly staff, clean room, bathroom renovated, comfortable shower. Air conditioning working well, good wifi. Chance to park the car nearby underground (15 euro per night). They let us keep the car till 5pm with no overprice (thanks!). Reception open 24/24. Small lift available. I would return to this hotel.

EstoniaThe problem is similar to most of the affordable hotels in these times of the year when it is already more or less warm during the day but goes down to a few degrees C at night - it is a bit cold in a room, but heating is switched off and cannot be controlled. The was an air conditioner with a heating regime, but it was put only to the cooling mode by the admin centrally.
Nice hotel with friendly staff, and a good breakfast if you like it light and simple.

United KingdomBeds were quite hard and it would've been good to have a hairdryer in the room.
Super friendly staff, great central location, clean room, massive bathroom for the size of the room (almost the same size! And the shower was fab). Breakfast is good for €9 - standard croissants, pastries, bread, ham/cheese, fruits, cereal, yoghurt, coffee. Basic but tasty and good value for money. Yes the room is small but we didn't need more, we were out and about most of the time! Quiet and calm area, but super central.

GermanyThe room was rather small, something that could not be seen on the photos. The interior of the lobby was pleasant, modern, but the staircase and other common spaces would need some attention: outdated. Skip on the breakfast option, you will find better pastry and coffee just on every corner of the city.
The staff was polite, ready to assist in case of need. The location of the hotel is really convenient. You could easily reach the main attractions (we walked to the most of them). The metro station and numerous bus stops are around the corner.

United KingdomIt's a nice hotel but really depends on ones tastes. For example decor is not to my liking such as leopard print carpets. The website pics are clear so this was my choice (limited availability) This hotel is fine for a few days. I'd not want to stay for more than 3 days or more.
Staff great. Nice new bathroom facilities. Comfortable bed. Very good location.

AustriaWe booked the last vacant room, which was nr 501. It was not as nice as in the photos, lots of stains on the floor, ceiling is extremely low. The other rooms are much nicer and the lobby and breakfast area are very nice, so I recommend the place if you don't book the very last available room. :)
The staff is great, the facilities downstairs are also great for working or to hang out for a bit.

NorwayRooms are on the smaller side, there's almost no space around the double bed and a very tiny table and wardrobe, and the entry door collides with the bathroom door. No ironing room, so iron and iron stand had to be brought to your own (very tiny) room.
Central location and 3 minute walk from the metro. Simple, independent hotel with some charm. Friendly and helpful staff. Air condition worked well and the bathroom was clean and quite modern. The street contains shops that are closed at night and appartment buildings, so quite quiet at night except some traffic, we slept very well.

ItalyThe double room was quite small, very limited walking space around the bed, tiny wardrobe. The toilet towels weren’t changed everyday but we asked at the reception and they provided us new ones.
