Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe Indigo parking may be rather nearby, but it has 7 floors and no elevator. Quite a nightmare if you have a lot of luggage to carry. What they did not tell us though is that you should first pass by the hotel (where you can also unload) and fetch a card to enter the parking. So we then had to drive again out of the parking till -7, pay, drive another 10 min’s again to the entrance of the parking, and swipe the card of the hotel… a bit more information from the start would have been nice. The breakfast and reception areas look rather modern and cool, but little is left of that vibe as soon as you go up. A pity. The room is very small. For one night it is okay, or if you have little luggage. The room was clean but not in detail. As soon as you open the tap of water, you see all the dirt and limescale underneath. The towel radiator they should just remove. It is rusty and gives an unclean feeling. For Biarritz the price for one night is probably okay, but I then rather pay 50 euro more per night and get a decent room and better communication.
The hotel is located right in the centre of Biarritz, with the Grand Plage and the Port Vieux only a short walk away. The staff is friendly. You could not hear any noise from the street in the room, which was great. You could hear a lot of noise from the hallway though. The hotel has an arrangement with a nearby Indigo Parking, so you pay €12 instead of €19 for one day. If you want a cheap stay for one or two nights, in the centre, and are okay with a small basic room, this hotel could be a good fit.

FranceThe beds were very hard! Woke up quite a lot with a bad back. Also, not much privacy in the bathroom. Frosted glass door and you could hear everything the person in there was doing!!

United StatesThe area was under construction and nothing was said about it at booking. Getting to the building was a hassle because of the construction... but not only was the streets under construction the building was remodeling also which was a bit uncomfortable being that the hall is so tight. The ac doesn't work like it should. In short, it was ok, the area is beautiful and the building will fit right in once they catch up with the remodeling.

United KingdomThere are currently building works to all sides of the building making the property difficult to access. Not the hotel’s fault, but if you have mobility issues or a buggy, the uneven ground could be difficult. We had an issue with our room which was rectified by a free breakfast; we did have cleaners trying to enter our room a number of times. It was noisy at night, the hotel is close to a nightclub and in the centre of the town, so if tranquility is what you’re after; this wont be for you.
The location was perfect, very easy to find & park. The decor is really tasteful & the staff were very attentive. Great coffee & fantastic breakfast. Very dog friendly.

IrelandThe decor is very out dated in the bedrooms, The small shower room was modern, the toilet room was very bad decor. It was ok for a one late night stay over, but would not want to be there for a few nights.
The Location was perfect. There was a lot of confusion with check, in, as no text message or email was sent to confirm how to access the hotel on late arrival. The message that was sent informed us that there would be someone there till 11pm. Which was not the case. An old lady, guest let us in, she was trying to get out.

United KingdomOn our first night, the fire-alarm went off and we all evacuated, this was due to someone smoking in their room and triggering alarm ( around 11pm). A different alarm went off two more times throughout the night, (around 5am and 6.45am) where we had to leave our rooms (but no explanation for these alarms). Staff don’t stay at the hotel overnight, so we had to wait for someone to arrive and turn off alarms, which was 15min+ wait. We were initially given a room with broken aircon, the receptionist had told us the engineer had been there during the week and serviced all aircon systems, therefore it should have been working. We then asked her to come see for herself, she then agreed our room was a sauna. We were given a different room, which was great, and the aircon worked a little better. Aircon system was just very old. Staff were never at reception which was very annoying, unsure if they were short staffed or staff just elsewhere.
Hotel was in a great area of Biarritz, only a few minute walk to bus stops, shops and beach. Beds were comfy. Rooms were basic. Breakfast was €13.

IrelandThe hotel is so dirty and unkept. The carpets are beyond rotten and stained. There was a large cockroach in our room when we arrived & staff did not seemed surprised despite our shock. The hotel is in a bad state of repair and extremely dirty, so much so that even a great location could not compensate.
