How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Friendly and helpful staff. They had a great decoration and gift for our honeymoon trip. They have free tea/coffee/dessert after the breakfast til evening (all hotels should learn to do).

Staff.was very helpful with dinner reservations. Room curtains effectively eliminated all light. Breakfast was quite good, with eggs cooked to order on request

The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay as I had never been to this hotel before. The breakfast was a highlight with lots of variation and healthy options too. The spa is one of the reasons I booked and the staff kindly offered me a free pass to try it out! The hotel also has a really nice modern gym, it's basically got everything you need and would want from a hotel. The location is perfect walking distance to all the main shops and metros nearby. Would definitely recommend and will stay again! :)

I wanted the Hammam but it was a service and I had to book and pay prior.
Location and set up was welcoming (honey). The free coffee and refillable water bottles were comforting.

We had the executive suite. I went to pull the curtain as the curtain are tiny. It was funny at the time but I think curtains to block out the sun in the morning would help.
The style, the breakfast and how clean it was. The staff were fantastic and so welcoming.

Because of the location it is very small room but has everything we needed except of view from the windows. There is a lot of natural light from the windows but the view is to the pipes of the billing :(

Nothing to add here, honestly. We had a great stay.
We loved everything about the hotel and the staff. Meriem was super helpful, right from day 1 to our last day of the trip. She helped us a lot during our stay. Thank you for making our stay such a wonderful experience. The midday tea and cakes were amazing. We came back once in the afternoon only to try those cakes again. :D The rooms were comfy and clean. They have 'Rituals' amenities in the bathroom, which my wife loved.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property itself has beautiful interior and the rooms are lovely. The bed was particularly comfortable and the toiletries from Ritual fantastic. As a solo traveler I felt safe. I usually stay at the Left Bank but I was pleasantly amused by the area around the hotel. I didn’t use the gym/spa but I had a look and I’ll try it next time. All in all, a wonderful relaxing stay with good breakfast. Access to coffee and tea in the lobby an added bonus. Saint-Lazare station is very close to the hotel and makes the entire city accessible.

Hotel and room were clean, but the bathroom sink in my room would gather water and drained very slowly, needs to get unclogged and deep cleaned.

Only 1 mirror which was inside of a corner wardrobe so difficult to access. We wanted a relaxed weekend so having access to Netflix would have been nice.
Location was close to transport links - metro, bus stops etc. Staff were really lovely. Tea time between 2-8pm serves free hot drinks and cakes. Shower was powerful and warm. Room OK size given we were in the city. Bed was comfortable.

The temperature in my room was too warm and I wish I could have controlled that myself. It was only a minor issue, it did not affect my experience that was otherwise stellar!
I loved the entire experience! The location is excellent, and the staff is extraordinarily warm, kind, helpful, and hospitable! The room was lovely with all of the luxurious comforts - wonderful bathroom, comfortable bed, lots of pillows, good lighting. The breakfast was superb, and very kind service to go with. The team kept my luggage safe for a couple of hours before I needed to leave the hotel. I very much appreciated all of the warmth and hospitality offered, and I cannot wait to return for another stay!
