Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandVery very small. No fridge. It was noisy outside till very late every night as its across the road from a bar. If you close the windows it blocks the sound out, but then its too hot and stuff in a tiny room to sleep. Only has a fan for air conditioning.
The staff were very friendly and helpful It was very clean - couldn’t fault the cleanliness at all The lift made me laugh every day Handy to the underground train station

IrelandStaff are disinterested and not very helpful or friendly. There was no advice given on the local area, check out time or breakfast - just about paying the tourist tax. I was speaking French so it wasn't a language issue! The hotel is quite dated, especially the old carpets in the hallways and the tiny lift that is not for the claustrophobic. All of this for almost €220 a night which is not cheap for an area outside the main tourist drag.
Bed was surprisingly comfy given how basic the rooms were and the shower was good.

CanadaThe size of the room was smaller than we expected, but I suppose that can't be easily remedied due to the size and age of the building.
I liked that our room was cleaned and tidied everyday. Staff did an outstanding job in this regard. Every morning we could smell the croissants baking downstairs. It smelled so good that I regret not trying the hotel breakfast.

United StatesThis hotel requires you to leave the key at the desk every time you leave for the day. I don't have an issue with this in practice but when I came back to find a new receptionist at the desk (one we hadn't met yet), I was expecting they would ask for my id to verify my identity. I was surprised when they didn't ask. It just made me worried if anyone could just go in and say they were staying in a random room. I would stay here again however!
I enjoyed my stay here! We specifically wanted to be near Republique and this hotel was the best rate we found for the location. I loved the cafe next door and walking around the canal. This may be one of the smallest hotel rooms I've stayed in but if fit my partner and myself just fine. Bed was comfy, the room was clean and the staff were very nice.

Spaineverything is small (normal in Paris) - the elevator, the rooms and bathroom. It has everything you need but on very little room .It was hot already and we came in May - wonder how it is there in summer - no air-con in our room. the elevator is the smallest i have seen so far - maye for that you should book the hotel. Its so fun to ride in it.
excellent location and good value for money. Paris is expensive and this was ok priced and central. the room had everything what we needed and the staff was very friendly and helpful. 24h portier which is nice to have. we had a top floor room with a nice balcony and view. the tiny elevator was an event for us and will make us laugh for many years to come. Just for that you should book that hotel.

United KingdomNo air con, the fan was helpful but mainly circulated warm air in a hot June visit. A fridge would have been a good addition to the room.
A good location, close to the metro and about 3-5 stops from main sights in central Paris. Close by cafes, restaurants and usual fast food places, lovely boulangerie on the corner. It was a lot quieter (couldn’t hear outside) and cleaner than other reviews had suggested. Housekeeping came everyday and cleaned and tidied. Compared to your main hotels, it wasn’t bad, but then we didn’t go to Paris to stay in a hotel room, good value for money really.

RwandaThe pics reflect it to be a big hotel but it's a small hotel. The lift is the smallest I could ever imagine...slightly bigger than a regular sized coffin.
Breakfast was very basic and expensive so never opted for it specially when so many restaurants are available next door. Staff specially Rajha spoke good English and was very helpful and friendly. WiFi was free and good. Location very nice too
