Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Switzerlandwe needed to pay right in the beginning, we felt that the bed was quite uncomfortable and hard. we found it also unusual that the cleaning fee needed to be paid by the guests for the owners comfort, this hidden costs comes with a surprise as we have never seen this before.
the location was great, it has a nice view on the sea and the terrace is quite nice. parking spots are right in front of the house. we also loved is the pool with the view on the sea, quite area with restaurants in walking distance. it’s a nice place to relax.

SloveniaNothing particular, vila might have had more wall hooks for clothes and towels, especially the bathroom, reception opening hours were a bit off.
Lovely pool, vilas are nice and clean, terrace is great with a spectacular view of the bay, lots of trees and shrubs.

CanadaThe pictures I believe are fairly deceiving compared to what you actually get at the location. It seems like you are a few steps from the ocean but definitely not the case their is an entire resort between this location and the ocean and you need to walk to either the restaurant or small hidden path to fin the beach and no one is around to direct you with this information. No one was available during the states check in period and were not available the day after either to provide any information on the property or surrounding area. Communication with the host was very difficult. She sent messages originally through booking.com prior to check in as she needed to notify us that she had to take her kids to some sporting events and wouldn’t be available. Not a big deal, but when the communication wasn’t for her benefit we couldn’t get ahold of her again through booking.com or through her business email. We arrived and the place was clean however no sheets were on the bed and we had to put the bed together ourselves. Not the end of the world but I thought very strange and not what you want to do after a long day of travel. The bed was not just firm it was hard, very hard. Pillows however were soft and nice. She charged 10 euros more for the cleaning fee then what booking.com stated. No answer to our email or booking.com message but she did respond to Booking.com stating the higher price is listed on their own website. I think booking.com might want to update their info. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place nor stay there again.
The room was clean and the shared pool area was clean.
