Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe could only stay there one night! This a hidden gem!
The accommodation is a fantastic setting and in pristine condition. An apartment, it has plenty of space, with washing machine, fridge/freezer, two tv's and a dishwasher! The accommodation manager - Hakim - is an asset to his employer, as he explained everything in great detail, and ensured we had a great time.

FranceThere needs to be more signs that are clearer you can’t send a message saying waiting in Annex for your arrival and then have no bell working to enter the building (we got soaked in the rain) the man in cafe had to let us through. Also more clear signs in the garage where the elevator is, the room numbers in the corridor are tiny ,I had to mess getting my glasses out to find our room. BUT the accommodation was perfect.
Stunning building and the apartment was fabulous for the money, looking forward to coming to visit again.

NetherlandsVery hard to determine where to get and return the key, park, and eat the included breakfast. NOT recommended for handicapped guests: too many stairs to be negotiated. Also the Annexe was not open when stated the next morning entailing even more walking and negotiation of steps. It was an affront to have a Euro 200 hold placed on my credit card: we are elderly travelers not inclined to partying and destructive behaviors. The apartment was adequate. It did not really exude a welcome. It needs a better quality bed and more bed pillows. A parking fee felt de trop. Were I in New York I would expect it. Rochefort? Not so much.
Magnificent 16th century building lovingly restored into apartments. Beautiful location on a yacht harbor.

AustraliaBreakfast was less than satisfactory and probably be better to reduce the cost of accommodation and not offer breakfast as the kitchen is good and there are a number of supermarkets nearby. Poor coffee, and basic bread doesn't make a breakfast. Although the apartment had a washer/dryer there was no iron or ironing board, however upon enquiry we were offered an iron & board for an extra fee of Eu5.00. WTF? With a good (or excluded breakfast) and an iron and board this place could have earned a 10.
The property is a beautifully renovated Military Arsenal located on the quay. Location is an easy stroll into the old town with plenty of restaurants and cafes. Parking is big, secure and located in the basement of the property with easy access and reasonably priced (for France). Our room was large and well appointed. Bathroom is large. Heating is electric but manageable and worked well. Excellent dedicated desk with plenty of space, good kitchenette. Very helpful staff. The complex is in a quiet location. WiFi was reasonable and reliable (could have been a bit faster but good by French standards). Good water pressure and functional bathroom. USB charges on both sides of the bed. Very comfortable bed. Good pillows.

GermanyThe security deposit on my account is still blocked after almost three weeks. I have contact the hotel management multiple times but I am still waiting for a feedback. I would have rated the hotel with 9 stars if this hadn't happened.
Given the fact that I speak French, it wasn't a big deal but I believe it would be tricky for people who can't speak French. To sum it up, I believe there is room for improvement in this regard. The staff were really friendly and helpful (but again, I speak French, I don't know how others who can't speak French would perceive the staff)

FranceThe signage is not good, you have to go to the Annex building to check in.The enormous very heavy steel gates are very hard to open to leave the complex, even a young delivery driver said to us that he had trouble opening them!
Lovely large complex, lovely staff, large luxurious apartments, big comfortable bed and many kitchen appliances all spotless and clean, very big bathroom. We will stay here again! Very good location.

IrelandAbsolutely nothing; I couldn't fault it.
This place is truly unique. Where else can you stay in a well-decorated and -equipped 400-square-foot apartment in a 17th/18th century naval arsenal complex for €80 per night, including continental breakfast on the terrace of its Piece a Cafe restaurant, which overlooks one of Rochefort's marinas. The staff in its L'Annexe building were also super friendly and helpful.

United KingdomA bit hard to find. The atmosphere of the place can be a bit like a barracks, with too much concrete in the huge central courtyard, but it has plenty of character. Some guests had difficulty getting in and out of the place. The receptionist didn't open the gate when we buzzed on arrival. These are all minor complaints.
Lots of grand historic character in this converted naval facility located right by the water. We had an excellent appartment, spacious, clean, well-equipped and quiet. The buffet breakfast in a bar just outside (on the quayside) was especially good. The reception staff are very friendly and there's free parking nearby.

United KingdomVery convoluted process with checking in. No email arrived with instructions on how to even enter the property. Lots of buzzing on doors and unanswered phone calls. If you have a lot of luggage, it’s extremely tricky to move stuff from A to B, particularly if you have a dog in tow. Shower cubicle had a bit of a whiff because of mould ( not the end of the world) but someone had done a wee and not flushed the loo when we arrived. We were offered another room but saw no point after we’d unpacked. Apart from the initial niggles, everything else really was top notch: lovely room and location in an amazing historical building.

FranceBooking.com states that this property has air conditioning (at an extra charge) which is a reason we booked. Upon arrival we were told the property never has had a/c. A mobile unit was found for us, which meant having the extremely large window open, to use it, allowing more heat in than we were pumping out. It was impossible to sleep in the bedroom due to there being no opening window and no air flow, during a heatwave!

United KingdomNo air con, could at least supply fans. Needed a deep clean, cobwebs in window, dusty blinds, extractor in bathroom thick with dust, hoover needed it’s base cleaned, freezer needed defrosting. For the money paid plus the extra paid for our dog I expected it to sparkle & not just have had a superficial clean. Also no mattress protection, bed & linen was fresh but with no air con & 34 degree heat & rooms in constant use think they need to be mindful. No corkscrew but 10 wine glasses! Our room E003 right next to restaurant extractor so not great when needing to air room. Only 1 key supplied not great when wanted to go out independently from travel companion.
Great location. Good size accommodation. Beautiful courtyard. Comfy bed. Plenty of nearby parking.

IrelandThe apartments need aircon. Its too hot even when the weather out side is not super hot. The car park below ground and even the public areas with high ceilings are cool and have air passing through them and are cooler but the apartment was hot with no air circulating even with windows open. The noisy mobile cooling units in the rooms should be binned as they are so loud you cant use them day or night. Large quiet fans would be a start but AC is needed. Signage is needed everywhere. It was hard to find the reception from the outside, its not that obvious in the courtyard either. If in an emergency exiting the apartment all doors look the same. Its hard to find the refuse area in the basement - some general information for guests in the room would help. Door closers in halls need adjusting to stop them banging. Breakfast was just not organised properly, we felt sorry for the staff as they tried in vain to restock but the facilities for chilling items for breakfast, the layout and the lack of basics left a lot of people scratching their heads. It just needs to be managed. Most hotels would kill for this location, it should be a great breakfast experience but its not. Lastly I think they could charge less or not at all for the parking.
Beautiful building, two bed apartment had plenty of space, breakfast area also very pretty. Staff were friendly. Parking is convenient. It has all the ingredients to become a great place to stay some day.

SpainThe organization was quite unprofessional. Although the equipment was reasonable, you could bet that no matter what inconvenience you had, the manager would find an excuse not to try to solve it. For instance, the place has a quite autonomous access method, with different perimeters protected by unmanned heavy entrances. Well, we were six in our apartment and this guy wasn't able to provide more than a single key in the whole week we stayed there. Accordingly, when we had small troubles (say, a kettle that didn't work ...) we didn't even mention to him. Perhaps this was precisely the purpose, I don't know.
The Arsenal is on a wonderful yet peaceful location. Our apartments were spacious and full of light. They were kind enough to provide bed and feeder for our pet.

This is an extrodinary place and a great place to stay as the appartment has everything! Wonderful historical buildings renovated to a high standard overlooking the courtyard or Quai Side. Secure parking (extra charge) is underground and there is a lift for easy access to all floors. Breakfast was good and we could sit on the Quai side. The rooftop bar well worth a visit and good restaurants are a short stroll away. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who took us to our room and explained everything - great!
