The furniture was insufficient and/or falling apart. The desk or table was very tiny and wobbly, so working on laptop and having a tea or coffee at the same time was quite challenging. There was no wardrobe or closet so for seven days again quite challenging to deal with all clothes one needs ... The breakfast not bad but do not expect any fried eggs or bacon ... still basically OK. On checkout I was not given printed invoice/receipt because the printer did not work??!! If someone wants my money I expect this automatically without any excuses.

The only material criticism worth mentioning is the room size, which was very small, As frequent travellers we encounter all sorts and are not terribly fussy but in this situation there was not enough room to open two suitcases and still move about with comfort. We managed, of course, and as a value proposition would still recommend the hotel, but it will work best for light travellers!

Location in amazing, very close to the Palace but also quiet. There was free parking in the street for the month of August, which was a great stroke of luck for us. The hotel was neat and clean and the staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the hotel was also very good.

The hotel was in an excellent situation within easy walking distance from the town and the Palace of Versailles. We were able to park for free across the road from the hotel . We enjoyed a good breakfast with plenty of variety.

The location was fantastic for eating out and visiting the chateau. The breakfast was good and the welcome we and the pets received was superb. Would recommend and we hope to stay there again soon.

The room was rather small (I guess 3x3m²), the bathroom as well. There was only one small pillow for my bed. Not much room for anything else really. There was still trash from the previous owner inside of the bin. The tables for breakfast were a bit sober and sad, the food itself was good with fresh croissants and pain au chocolat.

I liked the location, it's only 15min away from the castle by foot, the surroundings are quiet. The staff was friendly, we shared a few good laughs.

Parking. The hotel was billed as having free parking - one of the reasons we chose this hotel. However, well after booking, we found that there were limited spots on a first come / first serve. Our flight was delayed for hours and hours so we had no spot to park after a very long and frustrating travel day. Either the hotel or booking.com should detail that there are only 9 spots of parking for more than 20 rooms in the hotel.

Fantastic Location! Walking distance to the Palace at Versailles! Great bed and the breakfast was wonderful - I could have eaten away the morning! Very typically small Paris hotel room but very comfortable! Nice bed, great shower (tiny bathroom!) and very quiet (YAY)!

I wished our rooms were on the same floor - but it was probably difficult to arrange for a room for 2 and a room for 3 close to each other. Our children our older so it worked perfectly fine, but our preference would have been to be on the same floor.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel des Lys. The staff was friendly and courteous. We arrived early and they held our bags until our rooms were available while we ventured around the Versailles area. They also arranged our cab for us when we left - which was great because we are a family of 5 and needed a bigger taxi. The people at reception spoke multiple languages - one spoke French, English, Arabic, Italian, and German. The hotel room was quaint, but it was clean. This hotel is close to a market, restaurants, bakeries, Chateau Versailles, and the train station. We ventured to the bakeries the prices were great and the pasteries delicious. We did not eat at the cafes, but the prices were similar to restaurants at the US. We ate a a small pizza place without the cafe ambiance, but inexpensive and close to the hotel, and loved that the pizza was similar to Flam Kuchen. We also found a grocery store close by and bought some fruit and drinks there.
