Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyDo not book this hotel. Apparently they overbook all the time. Got a call from them 3hours prior to check in to tell me I can't have the room, because allegedly the toilet was broken. They wouldn't offer any other room. Just said we shouldn't come and they don't have a room for us.

RussiaWe weren’t really satisfied when discovered that city tax is 5 euro per person for 1 day instead 1.50 euro as it is written on the Booking.com app. Beds are to soft so you sleep in the middle like in a cradle. If you are not used to it it’s hard to have a good sleep. Moreover, there is no AC in the room so it’s stuffy during hot days/nights. (It was 30 outside when we were staying there so we had these difficulties).
Amazing location, there are some nice bars and cafes with good coffee (f.e. Dose). It is near blue and purple metro line stations. Also you can find two amazing parks just next to the hotel. There is a small supermarket 7 min walk from the hotel (fanprix). I would that it’s a quite area (with bell ringing during few minutes in the morning). The room and bathroom are clean and light. Soap and shampoo are provided. There is an elevator in the hotel, however it’s quite small one. Hotel stuff is friendly and works almost all day long (from 10 am till 12 pm). English skills are not the highest but enough to understand each other. Thank you for their help.

ItalyThey are not responsive. I emailed them in advance to ask for confirmation they would take my reservation given my train was due in at 11.15pm, 30 minutes metro from the hotel and that the hotel reception closes at 12am. They never answered but my reservation was not cancelled, rather the card was charged, leading me to assume it was ok. The staff is also absolutely not cooperative. They actually were extremely rude to me due to the fact that in the end my train was late and I got to the hotel at 12.20am . The bad attitude continued also after I excused myself for having caused trouble, and after noting that I had tried to call earlier (11pm, before closing time) to warn them (to no avail because they did not answer) and that as a result I had send a messagge to warn them that I was late for reasons which did not depend on me (email to which they never replied). Indeed, the host told me she has asked to ban me from the premises. I pointed out that given they had this opinion of me I could go look for another place, and asked for a refund of the nights not spent there. They refused. I ended up staying as it was a short trip and not worth the hussle. But quite frankly not a place I would ever pick again nor recommend.
The hotel is located in a nice area, very easy to move around. The place is decent and sufficiently clean.

United Kingdomwifi didn’t work in the room and shower drain kept blocking. Also no air-con in our room.
Nice clean room and could see the Eiffel Tower. Good location with lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby and a 5 min walk to metro station, also a reasonable walk to Eiffel Tower.
