Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe large wrap around terrace on the top floor and the modern rooms with good beds. Also the friendly staff.
Aubagne is a lovely small perched town near the hills described by Marcel Pagnol. The views all around are the essence of Provence

South AfricaPayment for the booking was reserved on my bank account on 26 Nov and again 1 Dec which was processed on 5 Dec. This means that the money on hold from 26 Nov has not been released yet. Can you please release that funds back into my account?

Room was small but functional. Bathroom was uncomfortable to get in and out of bath tub to shower (too high). Disappointing that hotel bar does not offer any brand of Scotch whisky.. Only whisky available was Japanese.

LuxembourgWe don't understand how the hotel is classed 4 stars, it is rather a 3 stars. Rooms are small for a 4 stars, bathroom had some broken tiles, sound insulation was poor (could hear noise from the street with closed window). The hotel could use an overall good renovation. Lady in charge of the breakfast was too busy smoking outside while we waited. And when we chose the express breakfast formula she was telling us in a rude manner the items we were not allowed to take.
Central location, comfortable bed and pillows. Rooftop bar staff were great and helpful.

Netherlandsthe cappuccino at breakfast is not the way I like it (with sugar and cocoa added).
The fact that we could bring our dog was a big plus. We unexpected needed an additional night in this area and when you have a dog you have less options. This place was however affordable, clean and friendly. We could also park our car nearby in a secured Q-Park parking place. Breakfast was nice and staff was really friendly.

MonacoMore electric sockets especially by the desk and better lighting (especially near the desk as that corner was very dark) would make the experience better for business travellers to charge both their computer and phone at the same time, having a separate toilet is a typical French hotel quirk, not convenient for solo travellers (though can work if there are several people in the room. The hotel itself is very good and is probably the best in town but the town of Aubagne isn't the prettiest or safest, there were few decent restaurant options nearby, so not ideal as a base to explore Provence and to return to relax in the evenings.
The hotel is well located in the heart of Aubagne with convenient parking an easy walk away. Everything is very modern and clean with large, modern common areas in the lobby and a beautiful breakfast terrace (unfortunately closed outside of breakfast hours). The room itself was large, modern and comfortable, excellent shower pressure in the bathroom. The free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch.

United KingdomMy room, 222 had a few broken clips that held the shower head in, but that was the only fault I found my entire stay. :)
The room was spacious and clean, the staff were extremely helpful and provided me and my colleagues with a parking pass at a nearby supermarket. Breakfast was very good and it was nice to sit out on the roof in the morning. I would certainly come back for work or pleasure. The hotel was in a central location and it was very quiet at night which was great as I was on a business trip. I stayed for 5 nights and would come back if my work takes me there.
