Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandBed linen didn't seem clean and the bathroom was tiny (sink in the shower area!) I also have discovered some bites since I left so think there were bed bugs 😬
Very good location and price decent for Paris, though from reading other reviews it seems the price was highly inflated because of the Rugby World Cup.

United KingdomI didn't know how to set the air conditioner and I was cold during the night. The walls are thin and I could hear most things from outside (even with my earplugs in), unfortunately on my last day some guests decided to party at midnight and it was unbearably noisy.
The location is great, there are little wine bars and shops almost next to the hotel and the Moulin Rouge is just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is between 2 metro stations: Place de Clichy and La Fourche which take literally 5 minutes to walk. The staff is very nice and helpful, they can speak some English and they were very friendly. The room was clean and tidy.

PakistanFloor was not clean enough and Ac has auto settings as it turned off after a certain time. We've to switch it on again and again. There was also noise of neighbours most of the time.
I like everything except the entrance to lift. I think some kind of work is going on. Good location, all the cafes and restaurants are on walking distance.

EgyptThe hotel was under renovation during my visit, but that didn't cause any problems for me.
. Very good location, near De Clichy square. De Clichy and La Fourch metro stations are within walking distance to the hotel, with lots of supermarkets and restaurants. The staff were specially nice and helpful. Costing less than 70 per night, it was one of the cheapest in Paris during my visit.

Germanyvery small especially the bathroom, it's hard to communicate with the staff in English, an extra of 3 euro is charged (don't understand why because of language, maybe tax), outside the window is a huge pile of garbage, noisy, metro trains and people talking nextdoor can be heard
cheap, close to bus station, many shops and cafes nearby, the room was cleaned everyday

United KingdomPoor wifi signal in some rooms. No replacement towel. Weak shower that take way too long to heat up. Duvet had no cover, only another sheet under it. Duvet is old. Mattress is old. No actual fridge. Half of the power sockets in room doesn't work
Cheap, right next to a Carrefour city and numerous restaurants, close walk to Montmartre. Has tiny balcony that can be used as fridge in cold weather

FinlandLobby area, and the whole building was a bit messy. Room floors were dirty, as I came from the shower my soles were almost black pretty quickly. Luckily I had my flip flops with me. There was a hole in the wall in bathroom, and I had to be careful that my things didn´t fall there. It was some kind of shaft? The wi-fi had really bad connection, and didn´t work for me. The air conditioner couldn´t be adjusted, it was locked? So it was blowing pretty hard. Only way to help the situation was to turn it off, and then it got a bit cold. Other wise it was blowing 25 celsius air all the time. There was some kind of work site going on in the building. Every day some builders were hanging out in the lobby, and one morning I woke up to sound of hammering and drilling. Otherwise it didn´t bother me. There was dirt in the bed cover and also in the decorative pillowcases. That was a bit nasty.
Location was really good. I stayed for four nights, and used metro everyday, so metro station and also bus stop were really near and easy to find. Hotel was also in a walking distance from most of the places I wanted to visit. The size of the room was really good. Bathroom was a bit small, but it didn´t bother me. Bed was good, although there was only the bed cover, no blanket. Staff was helpful and kind and I could communicate easily in english. Cleaner came to change towels on the last two days. Comparing to Paris hotel prices, this was really cheap, and I think the price was good for this quality.

BulgariaThe location is not bad and turned out to be quite a quiet hotel.
The room is small. Regarding cleanliness, there is still much to be desired. For a seven-day stay, the maid came only once. The drainage channel was blocked (room 207). The air conditioner did not work, although the weather was quite cool and the room definitely needed heating, and when I asked if they could turn it on, they told me it would happen after October 1, but even when the date came, the air conditioner was not turned on (my stay was from September 27 to October 4).

AustraliaSTYLE Hotel is a misnomer. No style and more like a hostel than a hotel. First thing that struck me was the strong smell of cat pee on arrival! Staff welcoming but seemed to be random people living in the place with noisy kids. Size of the room ok and quite clean. But the shower room was a shower with no separation so water goes everywhere. Bedside tables but no lamps just overhead light. TV mounted at strange angle on wall so you could easily bump your head on it. All very awkward. Entrance area all very untidy and messy. Yes, it was cheaper than other hotels and in high season but 'quand même' a bit overpriced.
That's a hard question!
