Charlotte and Dave were very accommodating and served us drinks and dinner upon arrival. What a little gem of a find this place is! The building is beautiful and interior is typically french with a rustic feel. We stayed upstairs in one of the larger rooms with ensuite. They organise events and offer a full service Restaurant/Bar. The Beer, wine and the dinner was superb and just what we needed after a long days drive! We will be back for sure now that we found our dream home in France :)

If all you want from an overnight stay is a flat screen TV (there isn't one) and all mod cons don't stay here. Everything is very quirky, well worn and 'lived in' but with great style. We loved it and all the animals but that may not be to everyone's taste.

Good points: The people who run it, relaxed, like staying with friends. Beautiful old house, very eclectic style. The menagerie - the dogs, the horses and the alpacas. And the new born foal.....the home cooked food. Very comfortable bed.....good WiFi.

The location and the interior match perfectly the name of the place. It is charming and out of the world. The owner is friendly and welcoming. Plenty of animals around (horses, dogs, chickens) and nice nature to walk in. Good food (I had a Sunday roast) and breakfast.

We stumbled across this place in our travels and thoroughly enjoyed our night here. It was a very busy Friday night and the restaurant was full. The owners communicated very well and took time away from serving to show us our room. The room itself was huge! The beds were comfortable and the evening was quiet, (especially given how many people were there when we arrived) hence, we slept well. Dinner was good, with the local British expat community providing our entertainment! Lovely hosts who clearly enjoy community with others.

You need to be aware that it is an old house. Don't expect every corner to be 100% clean an tidy. We did not mind, because it's charming.

We were welcomed by wonderful hosts and an amazing dinner, despite our late arrival. Our room was not only beautiful but comfortable and perfect for our family of four (we traveled with two small children aged 3 and 1 and they loved the place just as much as us). Everything was so nice that we spontaneously decided to stay for Sunday Roast the next day - best decision! Again we had an excellent meal after a lovely walk in the area, the kids loved the many animals you can see on the property and in the villages and fields around. Perfect stopover from our way from Northern Spain back to Belgium, we will definitely come back!

It was quite difficult to get the attention of the barman at times to get further drinks. Felt for the owner at times as she appeared to be working flat out and could have done with some help. As the name suggests, it was a somewhat 'mad and crazy' atmosphere; we knew this before we booked so can't really complain too much. This is not the sort of place to go for some peace and quiet, but again to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Lovely outside areas, but some of the chairs looked like they were on their last legs.

Loved the friendly animals and the pond and the view. Friendly and welcoming staff. Potentially some lovely outside areas. Amazing and historic building.
