How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast could have been more varied, but we managed.
The hotel rooms were renovated after our last visit in 2019. We got upgraded room, which was bigger than we reserved. The room was tidy and cosy.

It wasn't made clear that you must pay for your breakfast and reserve a parking spot in the garage and still pay for it when making a reservation through Booking.com
The location was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. The recommendations and locations of free parking spaces were a plus when the parking lot spaces were full in the garage.

The room was rather small. Not a problem for one night but would have been if staying longer.
Good location a short walk from the centre of Colmar. We booked a car parking space in the garage. I recommend doing this if arriving by car.

They need to invest in a ice machine. They only have a tiny one at the bar. I needed a bucket of ice. The staff gave me some fancy ice that they had froze into star shapes. I felt bad taking them but I needed ice.
The property is a short walk to the canal. (3-5 minutes) Hotel very clean and staff were really friendly. They have secure parking for 14 euros a night and there are electric charging stations for your car. The parking is really hard to find in Colmar so this was really nice. The parking garage is connected to the hotel. The breakfast was really good. It had a nice selection of breads, cheese, and fruits. The hotel also has AC and when I stayed it was hot outside. It did take the AC a couple of hours to really cool the room down but it was fine.

Our room was warm that we felt uncomfortable. I’ve complained about it twice but maybe it’s just how it is. We just had to open our windows at night. Still would love to go back considering it’s price and location.
It’s just a walking distance from the city center. The staffs are very friendly and accommodating. The parking is so much safe and secured. Our room was spacious and has a fridge on it.

Expensive considering the facilities offered. Room with inclined walls.
Great location within walking distance of Colmar's old town. Good breakfast. Parking garage available but needs to be reserved in advance. Nice modern bathroom.

The location was excellent, offering convenient access to the old city and to the bakeries for some morning delight. The staff was very welcoming and replied quickly to all our questions. Our rooms were nice and clean and pleasantly appointed, ensuring a comfortable stay. Additionally, the availability of private parking was a significant plus for us. We would definitely stay there again.

In the room was very cold, we turned the heating on but during the time spent in the room, it was not enough for being a comfortable temperature overnight. Also, very thin duvet. The mugs for the coffee were dirty, not cleaned after previously used. Disappointed because we paid more, wanted a premium room but we had bad experience.
