Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe photos suggest a way nicer hotel than it is in reality. The room is small an the shower tiny. Taller or heavier people would not have been able to use the shower. the blanket had burnholes and the ceiling tape to cover holes.

United KingdomWe had such a great time here. All our family needs were catered for and staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The location of this hotel is very good, close to the tube station and only a few stops away from the Eiffel Tower and Arc De Triomphe. We will certainly come back here.

SpainBeds were full of hair, drains were blocked as water would take a while to go down, faulty electrics as we would put our card in and it would make a loud bang. One of our party is pregnant and asked for an extra pillow and was told "we don't have anymore". Also we were sent to a room in which we have to walk up abour 15/20 stairs with all our luggage even though it states "lift provided" when booking :/ Cleaners left our door open the second day as when we arrived back the door was only pushed too and I just had to push the door and it opened, no need to use my key (0/10 for security). On the 3rd day they then only left 2 towels despite us being 4 people (which we then requested 2 more at reception).
Beds were comfortable, location was okay with many restaurants/cafes/shops near by. Some of the staff were very helpful with providing towels (as the cleaners only left 2 towers when we were 4 people) and with allowing us to leave luggage on the day of check out until we went to the airport. One man on the desk even drew us a map on how to get to the metro and from there to the Eiffel Tower!

United StatesThe room we got was small for three people. We saw other rooms that were larger but they must of been booked.
There were a lot of restaurants in the area, easy for car service to find. The room was a little small for three people, but it was a unique place to stay in Paris.

ArmeniaThe location is perfect, right in the center of the city. There is a metro station in 2 minutes walking distance. It very comfortable to travel around the city. Also there is a metro/train station (Montparnasse) in 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. On the way there are lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, so the district and the location of the hotel are awesome and safe. The staff was very kind and friendly.

SloveniaHonestly, terrible. We did not get the room we booked - completely different as on photos. Room looked clean at first but then we saw some things on the floor that were not ours, such as metro tickets from guests before us ?!?!? Every day, when we returned to our hotel room there were things on different place as we left them. And the last thing - breakfast. I could not believe my eyes. Only cooked eggs, no fruit, coffee seemed like it had chocolate inside, small peices of cheese, crossaint, bread and some yogurts. If you were lucky, you got glass of water after 15 minutes if you asked. There is very small chance that they will understand english language. Very very small place for breakfast, only a few tables. When you come on breakfast and there is no place to sit, they just ignore you and do their work as if you are not there. Not worth the money at all.
The only good thing about this hotel is location.

the staff that we met were nice, and the location was next to few train stations that could take us to where we want to go. acceptable for a short stay and gladly we were out all day so only really used it to sleep (from what sleep we could get due to the noise)

United KingdomUnfortunately, our room was the last in a line tucked away in the back of the hotel's inner street, tucked in the courtyard used as the store or dumping ground for old furniture, ladders, hosepipes, wheelie bins etc which greeted us each time we opened our door. We didn't appreciate the bins being hauled past our room at 0630 each morning! The room was relatively unkempt, and in need of some TLC to repair the years of use, our room had holes in the curtains, chips on the walls, wallpaper peeling amongst other minor niggles which was disappointing. Our bathroom was relatively dated and equally unkempt, shower tile grout blackened with mould and not cleaned sufficiently from the previous occupants. This said, it had a comfortable bed, with working en suite facilities in the heart of Paris at a reasonable cost so you can't expect the Ritz!
The location was ideal, down the street from eateries and bars. Accessible transport (cycles, scooters etc) immediately outside. Comfortable bed, late checkout (1200) as standard.

Spainthe staff is very unfriendly and do not care at all about the needs and requests that we made to them. We had several problems since they did not clean our room, we asked for towels and we had to go down to the basement to get them, we asked to store our luggage and they only indicated with their finger where we should leave it, without helping us at all. We had breakfast buffet, but it was very scarce and they gave us one croassant per person and when we asked for one more, they told us: "no", with bad manners. Nothing recommendable, except for the location, near the Montparnasse train station.

UkraineOne of the four receptionist was attentive to us, helped us to find the taxi and with pleasure showed us how to get to the bus we needed. The rest of them talked too much and done a little. The normal room for three people that we’ve booked beforehand was replaced for one day by the double room with a folding bad. We waited half of the next day to move to our room that we’ve booked initially and didn’t get our money back as they thought that breakfast for free for one morning will be enough. By the way, rooms are small and stuffy with low ceilings, air conditioners are extremely dirty.
The location of the hotel is nice.

Bulgariathe staff was not cooperative and did not explain that on Wednesday the price of the room is 3-times the Sunday one. This information is not seen on Booking.com as well - it should be noted when people book that the price will vary and how.
I was not given a twin room as I requested in the reservation, the staff was not cooperative to offer two single rooms, after 1 night I got a different room with a bed for a child and a big bed - very uncomfortable. I got the receipt at the end of the stay and found that there were days with a price much larger than my allowance, and other days with lower. In advance, I did get only the final sum, which was OK, but if the price of the room was fixed.
