Parking slightly challenging due to construction surrounding (not property’s fault)

The bed was very comfy and the window shutters blocked out all light. The 5€ on-site parking was great to have albeit slightly challenging to get in to due to construction surrounding the property location. We stayed for one night, and it was lovely. I would stay again.

Marie Hélène and Claude make a lot of effort to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that their guests are comfortable and get the most out of their stay. They were helpful providing information before we arrived and gave us suggestions as regards good places to eat out in Melun. We appreciated their kindness, openness and attention to detail, as well as their awareness of the need to protect the environment and the efforts they make in that regard. Their gîte / chambres d’hôte:clean, tastefully furnished and well appointed. The breakfast is good. For those arriving by train … it might be better to avoid walking along the main road to get to the gîte as the quieter streets that run more or less parallel to the main road offer a much pleasanter walk, and the distance is more or less the same.

Have to pay for public parking in the street outside but otherwise all very good

family run. They do everything possible to make you feel welcome. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms. Air con works really well breakfast really good with homemade bread and jams. garden that you can use

The information available on booking.com stated that a gluten free breakfast could be provided which is partly why we picked it however during communication with the hosts they said they would be able to provide yogurt and fruit but no bread as they didn't want to make me ill and had no recollection of adding that information to booking.com. I appreciate that and was provided with yogurt and fruit as agreed but feel that the information needs updating as it suggests a more substantial breakfast can be provided

We loved the room, plenty of space and comfortable beds. The owners were attentive and helpful. They booked us a restaurant when we arrived to save us trailing round trying to find one with 2 small children in tow.

Claude and Marie were very and responsive hosts. We enjoyed two rooms to use, each with their own bathroom. The rooms were clean and quiet. The location was central in Melun. Parking is available in front of their house.

We mentioned that they lined the bed with a plastic sheet to protect the mattress. Understandable, but made it v hot and sweaty and made sleeping a trial (as well as not realising that it might be a problem as no other guests had mentioned it!)

The bedroom furnishings are dated, mismatched and not appealing. The toilet down the hall is not acceptable for something called a deluxe room. The wifi was spotty. The parking situation is dicey and I thought it was mispresented. The breakfasts were meager. The folks have minimal English.

host requires guests to take off shoes. Room was on 2d floor requiring to use circular stairway with bare polished wood steps which are clearly a hazard for a slip and fall accident. I slipped coming down but was able to recover myself. I can easily foresee an older person seriously injuring themselves.

In my opinion, The room was terribly crowded, impossible to move, we were in one room which was large but had so many things irrelevant to our stay that it bothered us to move. The house has creaking floor that made sounds every time we moved. In the room description was mentioned that it has kitchen utilities in it but there was none, I brought to eat some items to eat after a long day, expecting to eat them with the kitchen facilities that were supposed to be in the room. The day after the landlady looked in the room while she passed by and expressed her displeasure on that. The toilet and shower were not in the room, again not mentioned in the room description that the shower and toilet are external to the room. Breakfast was poor, only tea / coffee and bread.  Terribly basic and not worth the price of breakfast. We were seated at breakfast at one table next to other guests and shared a table and we were uncomfortable Sleeping in this room is like sleeping in a museum At the entrance she demanded that we enter without the shoes and go barefoot, the first time of all in all my 20 years as a tourist in hundreds of guest houses that I've been asked to do that. She also asked us to leave the keys of the car at the entrance to make sure we dont escape with the vehicle. In our opinion the landlady should not rent the house, when a person rents a room he/she should be prepared to receive their guests and not resent every little thing they do that is not to his/her liking.
