Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaDid not dislike anything about the property. Was great! Having breakfast included would have been nice. The people next door and people across the street were very loud so it made it difficult to sleep, especially with window open. (This is not the hotel’s fault) Air conditioning is needed.
The staff were friendly, location great in a nice neighbourhood. Loved the coffee and liked that it was always available in the common area. Staff allowed us to drop our bags before check in.

Switzerlandvery cozy hotel in a not too busy part of Paris that still has plenty of beautiful restaurants, stores and markets to offer. Very close to the Arc de Triomphe, all other places are easily reachable for Paris has a very well connected public transport network. The staff was friendly, the room and bathroom were spacious and beautifully furnished, we instantly felt very very comfortable there. The sauna also has a pool and a sauna which can be booked, so you can enjoy a relaxing spa evening without being bothered by other people.

IrelandI didn't try the breakfast so can't rate that. I'd have liked some breakfast tea (they only provided green - which I used - and some other Liptons tea but it wasn't like plumbers tea). The shower soap didn't get refilled but I'd say that was just an oversight. It's also I little walk to the Metro - like 7 minutes - but hey - who doesn't like a walk in Paris - and there were umbrellas by the reception door for use by guests.
Room was excellent. I mean, there wasn't a view and it wasn't a palace (this is Paris, rooms are small) but everything about was quality - sheets, pillows, TV, bathroom, tea and coffee (sachets only with kettle), all refreshed everyday with water and chocolates too. Fridge if you want. Really, I thought it was excellent. 24 hour reception as well which is handy if you want push the Paris button hard.
