Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomBooking.com peppered my inbox with "review this hotel now" emails for the next 7 days - including one that arrived at 3 a.m. and woke me up. Not the fault of the hotel.
We needed a cheap but comfy overnight hotel in Paris that was convenient for Gare de Lyon in order to catch the first train out of Paris the next morning. In that context Hotel Zazie did us very nicely indeed. The room and ensuite were both small but clean, warm, comfortable and with everything you'd need for an overnight stop. Couple of nice touches like book shelf with old books. Hotel has lift. The night manager was very friendly and between my French and his English we did fine for checking in. We had to be gone the next morning before they started breakfast so can only comment that the eating area also looked clean and well appointed. Will definitely consider stopping there again if doing similar journey again in the future.

The breakfast was great - really simple but the quality of produce was fantastic. The hotel is old and the rooms are small but it is clean and there was a fan in the room and a tv and it felt safe although it would have been nice to have had a safe.

United StatesI stayed for just one night and really appreciated the proximity to Gare de Lyon train station. My room, although small, was clean and comfortable. It served my needs very well. The staff were super helpful and friendly. I paid the extra cost for breakfast and it was well worth it. You have a choice of stairs or an elevator for the upper floors. I would stay here again!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Paris was very hot (30C) and so it was difficult to sleep well. The hotel rooms look onto a busy street so it is noisy if the windows are open. Good simple value-for-money breakfast in line with Covid limitations (no buffet allowed).

Very convenient location, just 5 mins walk to Metro line 1. Many shops nearby, walking distance to Gare de Lyon. Reception manned 24/7. Room was small but nice, table fan was provided. Enjoyed the street view from the large window.

CanadaIn typical Paris style it was very small, with an even smaller fan and no a/c so it was quite stuffy for sleeping. We also didn't like the fact that you are required to leave the room key with the front desk anytime you leave the premises.
This was a last-minute change so it served its purpose of a place to sleep. The location was good in the fact it was far enough from the city center to offer a quiet night's sleep, yet close enough to the metro and local restaurants to be enjoyable.

FranceAlthough clean some general maintenance, not just room servicing would be a good idea, checking sink outlets, hairdryers etc.
The Zazie would seem to be under renovation, I'm sure when it's all finished it will be very good. The rooms I ordered were clean and adequate for a short stay.
