How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

As others have said, no duvet but the heating was easy to turn up! Also sofas not fit for purpose, springs gone in both. Limited cook ware - no glasses. Also coffee machine pods were the wrong ones. Random stuff left in fridge including piece of cheese, and in bathroom too. I would prefer a more secure door lock - just a thumb turn lock. Maybe get a chain? But dog makes a good guard… Also no light when entering the block of flats, although once inside a timer switch.
Great location near to family, and patio doors onto small grass area so easy with the dog. Smart looking one bed, liked the breakfast bar and bed was comfy so slept really well. Also quiet.

Can’t use bath as the plug stuck open. Tea towel and corkscrew were missing. Had to buy corkscrew but got the refund for it. It’s a bit inconvenient.

The mattress was very soft but that is just preference. The fire alarm was beeping the entire time, but again this was just due to needing a new battery and we let the host know.

A few things missing from the kitchen....tea towel, bottle opener, wine glasses, scissors, egg cups. Table too high.
Location, size of apartment, dogs allowed, large TV, comfortable bed and sofas. Good value for money. Ground floor so easy access to garden.

The duvet was very thin, which I had read in previous review and had brought our own, So this wasn’t an issue for us. The sofa felt like it had broken springs in it and wasn’t comfortable. And no bedside light in the bedroom.
Really clean , great value for money and good communication from the owners.

Sofas looked amazing but were very uncomfortable, think the springs have gone 🤔 I wasn't in much so it did not matter to me. Could do with a bedside lamp as lighting in bedroom very bright.
Perfect base for my working at Newbury. Very clean and neat, bed very comfy. Would recommend.

Hot water seems to be slow in both bathroom and kitchen sinks. Could be better if a lamp is provided for the bedroom. A wall clock will be more helpful.
The flat seemed to be newly upgraded with almost facilities needed. The kitchen was very nice, full of appliances including kettle, toaster and microwave oven. Tea and coffer makers plus other food stuff were all free. The flat was very quiet even though it is located in a building with other flats. An Aldi shop is within a walking distance.

Needs a few things like a wardrobe, bins in bathroom and bedroom. Some milk to go with the good hot drink selection. No glasses and very minimal cutlery and crockery. There is a washing machine, but the line isn't good and no pegs or airer. A better selection of towels is required. Despite all of these things it was a lovely place to stay, these extra things would be needed for longer than one night stays.
A lovely, modern, clean flat in a very convenient location. Comfortable with large TV and WiFi.

The bed was made, but the bedding linen hadn't been changed before my arrival. There were hair at several places on the bed. As i had reached the property quite late at night, i did not want to call the owner for help - I had to lay my towel on the bed to use it. As the rest of the house was quite clean, this may have been an oversight, but I do think it is unacceptable to overlook linen change. It had a strong negative effect on my experience.
The whole 1 bedroom apartment was available. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. Fridge, microwave, kettle all clean and working- useful for my self catered stay
