How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was good even though it rained we found plenty to do
Tanya could not have been more helpful. Even when we had not booked breakfast, she put things in the fridge for us.

There was nothing I didn't like. If there'd been anything I needed, I'm sure Neil and Tanya would have sorted it as nothing was too much trouble for them
Quiet location in the countryside and perfect for a good night's sleep. Neil was very welcoming and the room had everything I needed. Very clean and well laid out.

Tanya was a great host! Lots of reccomendations and so friendly. The space was so comfortable and really well laid out. Quiet and relaxing place with lots to do around. Highly recommend the local pub and say hi to Barney :-)

Only one little thing I would add is a king-size duvet on the double bed so not to create squabbles on a cold nightl lol ps excellent heater in the room
Amazing little garden room Tanya was a lovely host although it was not supposedly bed and breakfast Tanya kindly left milk coffee, tea cereals et cetera had a wonderful tonight. Stay value for money excellent.

What a lovely little stop over we had. Very clean and all the home comforts. The only thing that would make it perfect is a memory foam mattress topper or a good quality mattress. Lovely warm welcome from host and we were made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Thank you 😊

I couldn’t find anything to fault or not like! Having organised my stay from abroad, I thought the bus transport would be suitable however it wasn’t. I would suggest if visiting this beautiful place that you have your own transport.
The room was very comfortable with everything you needed; the hosts provided cereals, bread, croissants plus tea/coffee for breakfast. The location was quiet and peaceful with a quaint hotel just a short walk away and. Small post office/ corner shop a little further up the road. Neil and Tanya are lovely, friendly & helpful hosts, with whom I felt totally relaxed from our first meeting. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous little annexe. Perfect to get away from it all. Breakfast items included, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely hosts who couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was perfect.

Everything was great. It would have been more comfortable to have had a king size bed. A double bed is a bit tight as my partner has sleep apnea and wears a mask to bed so a larger bed would be easier to manage. But this is a personal thing not a complaint.

Perfect stay in an adorable little cabin 🙂. Tanya & Neil (and Alan & Barney of course) we’re absolutely excellent hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my stay as a solo traveller for work. The cabin has everything you need - including much loved pastries in the morning! The bed I found was super comfortable and the entire place was so welcoming and had all amenities. 20 mins to a beautiful beach! Thanks so much Laura x

The bed could be a little bigger,it would mean sacrificing the furniture a little but a bigger bed and for us personally a firmer mattress ,that is a very specific requirement though .
